📺 How to Install Just Player on Fire TV/Android TV

@Miki has recommended Just Player numerous times on the Insider. Here’s a video that shows how to install it and activate it in your favorite APK.

Not all APKs support 3rd party video players. You will see in the settings of the app if they do.

How to Setup Downloader App on Android TV & Fire TV

I’ve tried many players on Stremio (and other APKs). Just Player was an improvement over Exoplayer and VLC but there are still some links it won’t play. MXplayerPro will sometimes play these problem links as will Bear player, but there doesn’t seem to be one player that will play everything!

So what if I screwed up and accidentally hit Kodi and always instead of Just Player? Now I can’t get rid of Kodi and get to Just player. Any recommendations?

Somewhere in the settings will be the player selection for internal/external. Find that and click external.

Just Player setup in Stremio. So far, so good. Thank you Troy and Miki.

I looked for answers and can’t find them…please help. I have followed your videos for set up help in the past. We have been having issues with links in Stremio not opening so I was following your instructions for setting up Just Player. I go to Downloader AFT, click on the #, type in 250931, click next and I get webpage not available. The webpage at https:/:go.aftvnews.com/250931 could not be loaded because: net::ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED

Are you using SurfShark, turn off the clean web, or better yet turn off your VPN then try it.

See this video. Connect to a different VPN server until it works.

I had to delete the player I accidentally installed as “always” before I could use a different external player!

I just installed and am using it with Syncler. Granted I have only had it 40 minutes or so, but it’s smooth and zero buffering so far.

I use MXplayer. Just play, VLC & exo only work 70% of the time and not on USA live channels

Yes, I noticed that I have to use MX player for several USA TV live Channels.

Exo player is in Tivimate and has no issue with live TV, so try using the default exoplayer. Lots of options to try.

Also, if turning off the VPN is a solution to an APP misbehaving, Surfshark has a bypass feature where you can select apps that you don’t want Surfshark to be active when you run those selected apps. This way you don’t have to keep turning Surfshark off and on when using certain apps. When watching videos on a browser for example, buffering can be a problem when running a VPN. Using the VPN bypasser when running a browser might solve, or at least reduce buffering issues.

Select settings>VPN settings>bypasser

How do you delete it. I’m getting to the point where I think I will have to delete stremio and reinstall it. Going to external (there is no choice for internal/external) does not allow me to get back to Just Play choice that I was hoping for.

@sktn77a I dont know if you got it fixed . But maybe uninstall Kodi . Play something and use just player . Then add Kodi back . If you find a solution mark it as found solution . So people dont keep giving you ideas . At least thats what’s been talked about when you figure things out .

So can I add this to XCIPTV APP ?

Stremio has the setting located under “default player”.

Ok but someone said do not use vpn if you use tivimate
