How to Install App Virtualizer on Firestick/Fire TV

Yea it’s not a perfect solution like we state in the article - “App Virtualizer gives Firestick owners a strong workaround right now, but Amazon could update their detection methods at any point. We recommend looking into Google TV devices or unblocked apps like Stremio for a more permanent fix.”

No dice with BeeTV or FilmPlus. Both lock up trying to update from inside virtualizer.

I was able to download the app from an UNLINKED LIBRAY. When I tried to Launch , i got a message stating the app was temporarily unavailable. I was not able to install from the Troypoint tools. Perhaps Amazon has already flagged the app and made it unavailable. Is there a downloader code

Are you not able to install apps from the TROYPOINT Toolbox? - TROYPOINT Toolbox

Code in Downloader is 250931

I was able to install the app with my VPN turned off and could launch some apps that Amazon had blocked such as Stube. However, in this environment the VPN is not connected. I launched my vpn within the app, but when I tried to relaunch Stube, the VPN was no longer connected within Visualizer. Since the app can only run with the VPN turned off, am I protected while using this app to load restricted apps. BTW, not all apps work with Visualizer, such as Sportsfire. You just have to find the ones that do work. The best solution is to set up an ONN 4k device with ProjectIvy and ditch the Firestick.

Yes thanks for the context and like we said in the article - “App Virtualizer gives Firestick owners a strong workaround right now, but Amazon could update their detection methods at any point. We recommend looking into Google TV devices or unblocked apps like Stremio for a more permanent fix.”

We may be out of luck. I have a fire TV also and downloaded and installed the AppV fine but I can’t install anything I downloaded from toolbox or anywhere else. Like you, I think Amazon is controlling that somehow. If I had known that was going to be an issue with all of this I wouldn’t have bought one. I’m just going to use my old box connected to the tv.

Same. Not working

Installed it just fine…Installed BeeTv and Bear Player inside it…BeeTv opens as normal but after selecting a show or movie it just freezes n goes back to the default screen…uninstalling…

I was not able to load from the TP toolbox. The website could not be found by Downloader. It’s available on several different Unlinked libraries and successfully installed. I could only open it with my VPN turned off. I was able to load some blocked apps such as STube and Film+.

Were you able to update Film+ from inside - mine just locks up (and there’s no option not to update).

Guess amazon has fixed it.. I get connection refused . Turned off Surfshark and rebooted.. same error message.

I wasn’t asked to update when I launched Flim+. It worked for me however, i was doing this on the Firestick because I was curious. I have long since converted everything I do, to the ONN 4k streamer way back in November when Troypoint said it was moving away from the Firestick. I wanted to be comfortable with the ONN device before Amazon started blocking apps. It looks great when you configure it using Troypoint setup and ProjectIvy. Just follow the setup instructions closely. Im not interested in Streamio so that reduced the setup time for the setup video. Looks like I bought my ONN devices in time.i am not using the stick version which I understand is the only version available currently.

As I stated in a previous comment App Visualizer only works with the VPN turned off, for me. So I don’t know if running apps inside App Visualizer would allow your IP address to be anonymous.

My next step might be to get a simple android box set up in case Google goes through their plans to alter things as Amazon has done. I love this Cat and Mouse game!

@Trumpeterrob
I am no expert on this, but my thoughts are that, with your VPN off and only the Virtualizer in use, that your IP address will not be anonymous.

My understanding is that the Virtualizer is for use with the Fire OS devices.

I totally agree with you. I don’t use my firestick anymore but I like to play around with it to see the various ways people are trying to get around Amazon’s blocking. There is no need for Virtualizer or App Cloner with the ONN devices. That doesn’t mean those devices won’t see attempts from Google to block third party apps in the future, but right now, who cares. My next activity will be to reset up one of my older Android boxes.

I haven’t seen this issue brought up yet. The App Virtualizer installed without a hitch. I downloaded Live Net TV, Streamfire, and Sportsfire. When I tried to launch them I get the same message: “Could not launch Streamfire.” I was able to launch BPlayer.

I was able to download App Virtualizer and tried to use it for the last 2 weeks to virtualize apps banned by Amazon on Fire TV. None of the 5 virtualized apps would open even though they appear when you open App Virtualizer. Noerror message- just a return to the App Virualizer home screen. Hence, I deleted App Virtualizer as it did nothing (NOOP)!

TDUK informed me that App Virtualizer has a bug affecting Fire OS7. This is why it doesn’t open on 2ND Gen Cube. He’s hoping the developer will update it soon. :+1:

Thank you for responding …I have since migrated everything to the Onn.

Figured out what was going on with BeeTV and Film+. Both require the original files to update. Any modifications (such as Cloner does) prevent them updating. You can continue using the old BeeTV app but there’s no option to do that with Film+.
