I am watching a film on Crew and want to stop and try to go back to prior screens. I try this by back clicking. When I do this the film I was watching still is playing in background. In order to watch something else I have to click my firestick home button and start Kodi process again.
What am I doing wrong. Note I am new to Kodi and always used third party apps in past.

You need to hit the “Stop” button before going back. At least that is what I do, because it drives me nuts when it keeps playing behind everything.

Do you mean the pause button??
I’m not in front of my tv at the moment, but if you hit the middle center button on the remote to pull up the bottom bar or menu or whatever you call it, there should be a STOP button to select and click.
Edit: to answer your other question, pausing it is better than nothing lol.
So I don’t think it is addon dependent but press select, if it just pauses then select again you should see the common set of video controls, fast forward, pause, back etc. The solid square in the center is “stop” that should do what you need.
I have seen the controls in various places on the screen depending on the build but shouldn’t be to hard to find. Hope that helps.
