Is there a way to download movies to the SD stick instead of the movie downloading to the firestick then moving it to the SD stick? I have a firestick with cables running to a SD stick, but when I download a movie it goes to the remaining memory on the firestick which means I can only download a 2.15GB and most movies are well over that. any help?
What Firestick do you have? There are lots of different ones, and as tech advances each requires different techniques to accomplish what you want.

Doesn’t really matter what stik u got, the Apps themslves have to direct the recordng where to go (the stik itself doesnt record)…
So unless you have a movie app or dwnld mnagr that you can change the directory/file to extrnl drive,(like Tivimate duz) then internl is where theyll go…
Tip: a droid phone is faster (takes secs), especially with RD (still hv to transfr or cast, but u can burn lrg files & quik)

That’s true Sketch, it is the app that starts the recording, but even then it depends on the Firestick OS as to how that is done or even if it can be done and how, or if, it shows and where. Whew that’s a lot of work. Lots of learning to be done. Have fun and Stream On.
As @Sketch mentioned you need to have something to direct where your downloads and records go.

Thank you for your reply. I am using a Model: E9L29Y 1st-generation Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K with Software Version: Fire OS 6.2.8.1 (NS2281/4812) with al updates. Using a SanDisk Ulta USB 3.0 64GB with a OTG adapter formatted to FAT32 and Using Remote ADB Shell. I can download a movie or TV show to my internal fire stick but not to the external usb drive. I went into kodi and set Kodi to download to the external USB but when I tried to download it looks like its downloading but it does not. I went into Crew and made sure that is set to download to the usb drive but nothing. Any Idea’s?
