How do I safely debloat a Firestick 4K using TECHDOCTORUK downloaded from the Troypoint rapid app installer? Thanks, Nix
Hello @johnmcastillo I go through that in this video here. The app is a bit different as it has been updated but same steps should apply - How to Deactivate Bloatware on Firestick 4K & Increase Available Memory for Performance Boost - YouTube
I tried connect FireOS 6 Debloater (although looks different on RAI than in Troy’s 6.19.20 video). I am guessing they just changed the icon. But I get the announcement “try re-enabling USB debugging in fireTV settings. Ensure no other app is using ADB. Disconnect your PC if connected via adb." I am not using a PC. I set up ADP for the SanDisk that holds my Apps and recorded shows on TiViMate. How di I get Debloater to work?
Do you mean ADB Debugging? That’s in your developer tools on the firestick and sometimes you have to toggle it on and off to get an app to see that ADB debugging is on.
Good suggestion. I turned off ADB debugging and tried again. I turned it back on and tried again. Both times it says “try re-enabling USB debugging in fireTV settings. Ensure no other app is using ADB. Disconnect your PC if connected via adb." I thought ADB might refer to ADB shell? But don’t know what to do about it, if that is the case.
ADB Debugging is something I leave on. I’ve never seen the USB debugging on any firestick I’ve had but I don’t have a usb stick installed via my otg cable so not sure where to go from here. Turning adb debug off then back on should have worked. What exact firestick do you have? You indicate you used the FireOS 6 but if a 4K Max you need the FireOS 7 debloat tool.
FireTV 4K os 6.2.8.1
Sounds like the problem maybe using the SanDisk
Yes it may be. Sorry I can’t be more help but I never need any extra storage on my 4K Max. I have all the apps I need for Movies, Series, sports and IPTV and still have 2.36 GB of free space.
