Hack your Amazon Fire tablet with Fire Toolbox (Install Google Play, disable Amazon apps, and more)

Which Amazon apps didn’t it disable?

It was apps like help, Amazon, video, Amazon store. Also i downloaded downloader but it would let me download beet but it wouldn’t work no third party apps would word.

If I tried to open a link on Google it would say no app to open link

Have you allowed (enabled) apps from unknown sources for the Downloader?

Yes but it’s not letting me load anything and the sites I do load don’t work.

So, the Downloader app is showing, and you have Unknow Sources enabled. Then if you are running a vpn, try turning it off and try again.

Personally, I use TVBro more often than not. Not a big fan of the Downloader’s clunky cursor.

I haven’t even downloaded a VPN yet. The weird thing is when I disable the Amazon apps not all because it won’t let disable all them my browser does not work. But if I reset all the Amazon apps the browser works. The alert I get when the browser doesn’t work is app

No app to open link.

So it sounds to me like you’ve disabled the Silk Browser which is the optimized browser for the Fire OS, Personally I loved it as I could add all sorts of “favourite” links to watch anything. I could download and install stuff. So if you’ve been overzealous in your disabling of apps and settings, I highly recommend starting from scratch, and researching the effects of the settings you are modifying, on your device, before disabling things. Things like the Fire Toolbox you are using, and say the TDUK debloat tool, take a bit of learning before rushing ahead and disabling or modifying settings that can result in issues similar to what you are experiencing.

OK Miki will do I will scratch. Thank you

Miki thanks again turned on Silk browser and fixed the problem. Again thank you

You are very welcome. I applaud your efforts and admire you for trying this. I am sure, with a little effort, you will learn a lot. It isn’t easy, and you will get frustrated at times, but once you’ve learned then you can help others with the same or similar issues. A little nudge from members here and you’ll be accomplishing your goals. GL2U.

I downloaded 4 programs to put Google Play store on my fire HD 8 two times. I had my device deregistered and called Amazon and they said that I did it and I did not I lost everything. The second time it happened I realized I just used their fire TV app to control another TV in the bedroom that app was from the Google Play store I would not download Google Play store on fire tablets and after that happened to me twice and Amazon insisting I deregistered my device. You can’t just deregister your device that easily it’s going to ask you Yes you do want to deregister I never went there. I ended up getting a Samsung tablet after that with an amoled screen s5e model and haven’t looked back their HD 10 a couple of years ago their screen looked yellow. I probably won’t buy another Amazon fire tablet again. I started out with their 7-in then the eight and tried the 10 not for me. So just wanted to warn you out there that they somehow will deregister your device if you do this. Now if you want to take the chance do not use their app to control fire Stick.

I agree. Have the FT 10 (2019) and it has been pretty flawless. Run SS with “Web Clean” checked and it does a great job on ads – particularly for our local paper. Seems pretty responsive. Plus was able to install the Google Play Store on it – kind of a convoluted process, but it works. Really only use it right now for Kindle Unlimited though.

I also installed Google Play Store on three Fire Tablets using those four programs and have had no problems for years. You also probably have the automatic blue light function checked in settings > display. This will eliminate blue light when it gets dark outside and your screen will take on a yellowish hue. Personally I think this is a great feature, but I suspect other company’s tablets have this too. Don’t know what “deregister” refers to. And I also don’t us the tablet to control anything else. But I will concede that my old FT 8 bricked when I uninstalled IP Vanish – went into an unresolvable loop that I couldn’t resolve using BIOS resets. So…under the hammer it went.

Call Amazon Support lol

LOL…Since I “acquired” this tablet, I would throw it in the trash can before I did that.

The good thing about the Fire Tabs other than being cheap, is that you get to eff with Amazon and it won’t cost you too much if they end up supplying the mortar for your brick.

In all honesty, the tablet is really fantastic. I just wouldn’t keep it or have it if the Fire Toolbox didn’t exist to get me completely out of the Amazon “feel”. Still, I am absolutely thrilled with the end result and use it nightly. It is a powerful piece of equipment for the price.
