I did try to pre-order the darker Google TV streamer. From the Google store. But since I live in Canada, I can’t get it. So I have to wait till I can find one . Let me know it works TXRon

All I can say is long live the Nvidia Shield. Unless they have a half off black friday sale on the google streamer I won’t be buying one. Not even sure the 23% better performance over the onn4k pro is worth the extra $50

To this point, here’s my take on this streamer after quite a bit of use.
“for me”… it does what I need. Streaming has been flawless and fast.
It does lack in io ports (usb) and for most cord cutters that is a minus because like most of us here we like to try various apps requiring keyboards etc. I would have thought at this price point that google should have known better than to short a box of this type
The box looks nice and hides away easy, not bulky at all.
If you have a ONN4k and are happy, stick with it as value vs content the ONN4k is the hands down winner. I have both and would never suggest this purchase because to be honest it can’t do anything the 4k cant. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket go for it or wait for Troy to raffle his off

I do not feel that this device is worth more than $50 there’s not that much of a difference between a Chromecast 4K and the Google 4K streamer. I had been waiting for a few years for Google to release a new device but just like they’re mesh network that was released Last year around the holidays this was another failure in my eyes. Electronics are not like designer clothes clothes. Google being a designer cannot charge double for the same technology that’s being sold for $50. I’m comparing the on 4K Pro to the Google 4K Pro streamer Yeah the Google Streamer has one more gigabyte of RAM Big deal. If you want to run gigabit and run an ethernet cable to the back of your TV more power to you. 4K files do not need or require 150 megabits per second They work just quite fine with 30 megabits. Final thought this device is not working $99. You have so many other options that are half price that do the exact same thing.
