I have read an article that says, although the USB-C port is for power, you can add an OTG cable, similar to what is done with the Firesticks, that allows data transfer and gives many more options like hubs and peripherals. I am looking forward to Troy’s tests and reviews of this device.

Let me be the first to tell you I’ve been waiting for this device for a few years. The specs are pretty similar to the ONN 4K STB. I already own the ONN and expecting delivery of the new Google streamer sometime late next month. I will give you my honest opinion of the differences in likes in an unbiased review. I mostly stream 4K content using third party applications. The biggest upgrade from the older generation of Google Chromecast is this one has 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of space. I’m sure the factory OS will take up a percentage of this. Regardless very excited for this release and I’m sure other people here feel the same way. I have used several boxes over the years rumor is this will be using an Amlogic processor which I cannot verify on the Google page. The main reason I switched to the Chromecast years ago was because Android TV versus the boxes that you buy all over the web that are running the Android phone version. If anyone has any more information please chime in If not I will let you know once I receive and test the new device. I’m looking for a full review from Troy which he always delivers along with any of his tips and tricks for loading this device.

For the life of me I don’t get the lack of wifi 6. In 2024? Brutal decision if, as I’ve read, true.
I looked at a very places…but I did not see specs on cpu or gpu.
Disappointed.
