Thanks for providing these instructional videos. Personally, I would be lost without them. Everyone should sign up as a patron! It’s the best money ever spent.
Appreciate your time spent on doing so many tutorials and videos. Always liked Google Tv. Some don’t like it just because of look.(old dongle) But it always worked fine. Just had to beware of the little memory and storage. Google gave them what they wanted in upgrades. But double the price. It looks like it could be some competition for the Fire Cube though.
AS always Troy, an excellent informative video. I’m still using my old reliable Firestick 4K considered the Onn and was about to buy, but then you hit me with this Google TV Streamer, which, after seeing I want to rush out and buy. BUT, now I have to wait for your forthcoming updates on the Streamer to make my mind up. Love the easy storage transition feature to USB (back and forth) Will take my time though before deciding which one. Thanks Troy for everything, keep up the good work
Supports Dolby Vision and Atmos, as well as all other formats. Why oh why is there no usb port, lol !
My remote doesn’t work. Any thing that has to be done. I got the check mark that It was connected.
Thanks so much for this and all your other reviews.
I wonder if the the drive, as you had it set up initially with exfat, is writeable like for Tivimate recordings.
Thanks Troy for an other informative video. I do appreciate the time and effort you’ve invested in all your work here. I see the Streamer as a very nice unit but will stick with my FORMULER Z11PM. If I were on a low budget I to would go with the onn 4k pro. Again Thank You
Happy TP anniversary @Therealsock . Have a wonderful weekend.
Great video Troy. It would be hard to justify spending the extra money when everything looks and functions similar to the Onn 4K. Nothing stans out as of yet. Yeah it my have faster speeds but is it necessarily needed. Oh and not having a usb for that price is really a deal breaker.
Thank You Miki and I hope your weekend was great also🥳
Thanks for the review! It looks like a decent product with possibilities, sure better than Fire devices. Over the past year I have given them away to family and friends and only have one left. I did get 2 ONN devices after watching your review on them and love them, but may give this a try. Just so happens I received a few Amazon gift cards for my birthday and was wondering what to get with them…LOL.
As others have said, thank you for all of your tutorial videos. They have been priceless to me! I was going to go a bit in depth about my use of this box and my experience downloading at least 6 of the most popular streaming apps and Kodi builds but yesterday, after many hours of set up and tweaking things I thought I will now enjoy some shows and a movie. Just to find I had no audio. I spent a long troubleshooting all the obvious things I could think of and retracing my steps of the installations I was doing. I even thought I may have made a fatal error with ‘Button Mapper’ from the Toolbox so undid customisations and even uninstalled, all to no avail…I was contemplating aborting the 12 hours of work I had put in and doing a factory reset when I remembered I had the same issue with my Nvidia Shield Pro. It has something to do with the audio the box supports and the audio devices you have connected. The simple fix on this box as it was on the Shield was to go into ‘advanced audio settings’ and check the box that says ‘never use surround’-reboot-done-audio back. Relief! If I get time I’ll come back and point out some of little bugs and incompatibilities with Android 14 and some the popular apps in the Toolbox. Thanks again Troy!
Had to come back to my reply here and just say that the fix for the audio issue works but one little caveat; after you have your audio back you can go back into the settings and reenable ‘automatic’ - reboot again and you should have everything back. BTW people with more complicated sound systems have been having some real issues.
Excellent. Tx for that onfo. FYI on my Shield Pro in the advanced sound setup I always have surround sound enabled as my equipment is designed and configured for it.
