I don’t truly trust either Amazon or google or any app store and that is why I scan any APK with Malwarebytes before initiating the install as well as after the install is done.

I totally agree before I turned off play protect every day it would delete all my sideloaded apps . Sneaky little bastards

Seems all MeCool boxes don’t have to usual turn off option in google Play store. I’m going to check the website they give but I doubt it’s gonna show there as well

Open the Google Playstore. Then click on your Avatar. Then click on manage apps and devices and then choose your settings you want. Pretty much the same on all Android devices.

Mecool is only device I’ve come across that doesn’t have the play protect option to turn off.

Turning off Google Play Protect on MeCool KM3

I have a KM3 Android TV Box and certain apps keep getting disabled (frozen) and will not show up on the launcher. It was suggested to turn off Google Play Protect. I don’t have that option on the KM3 under settings or any other place in Google Play. On the KM3, Security & Restrictions - Verify Apps, the button is greyed out and seems off. Any suggestions? Thx

Must be the new ones cause I had a deluxe that turned off as well. Got a deal on this km7 plus and it doesn’t have the option

No idea why you can’t disable it. The KM 7+ is just an android tv device with the playstore added. As long as you are logged into your account on that device the options should be there.
