doesn’t bother me at all as i luv 1080p and my surround sound reciever in 6ch mode sounds awesome
both boxes record flawlessly to 4GB ssd hd’s…4k is cool but a bit vibrant for me…a high quality 1080p stream is what i love? looks and sounds so good…just what i’m liking and my pix and sound are excellent

The Nvidia Shield Pro wont be affected will it ?
Probably not as it will never see an update again for its Android TV version and will stay on version 10.
But I did make a post regarding what the Revanced app developer stated and they are not worried about the changes that will occur but as they haven’t even happened yet and will take some time to be rolled out globally. There is nothing to panic about.

I couldn’t agree with you more. Before moving to the ONN 4K Pro I used the Stock Chinese boxes for years. Never had an issue with them and still have it if needed. Not sure but I think it’s running Android 7

Yes Sir…android 7 will let tivimate have all kinds of permissions to use sys picker to record to external drives…alot of guy’s talk about hdr10 and Dolby this and that…yes that’s a good thing
1080p and a solid stream lets my reciever upscale everything audio to 6ch dolby and it looks and sounds amazing … get compliments all the time on the way my simple system of watching tv works and look’s..so good…everyone stream to your heart’s content…i love this site

We all love the ONN boxes. Would a boycott of Wal Mart make any difference? Would WM actually care? Just wondering. Thanks, Bob

It won’t matter to Walmart. They are simply too big to care. In the future, the solution is to avoid any google tv o/s or other proprietary “certified” device. Troy has identified the manufacturers and devices that can avoid the upcoming mandatory google system updates and restrictions. The lack of “certifications” and “permissions” for certain apps and premium services on open stock android and certain Android TV devices used to be considered a drawback. That is no longer the case.

Since Kodi is a certified app in the Google Play Store, it will not be effected. Neither will Tivimate, as both are certified apps in the play store.

There is alot going on. Google like amazon Crack down on EVERYTHING BUT THE PROBLEM. Side loading isn’t the problem its an excuse because malware apps are on Google and Apple Stores has alot to do with no matter how you want to defend either. Money is concern…then we look at the malware on apps in stores or after you downloaded and virus/ malwsre shows up. But because I get from another store you want to restrict how I get my apps. And I get ding developers but like hazardous things come in our country but find out they bypass all checks isn’t our problem. Don’t ding the middle man upgrade the virus=malware with all the money you have instead of making life less enjoyable to the people that are enjoying what we have to enjoy in life. Beefing your security of apps wether they are from Play Store, Apple Store or 3rd Party should be virus malware etc checked when you are downloading. And an after check after actually opening so we are safe sounds smarter . Not liking idea either but again dont ding the middle people. At one point years ago this was being done. Where did that go? No matter if its an app of any type etc etc….jist saying…

I am a long timer with Troy point…and certainly no where near the abilities of many here. I am also rather basic in what I do…albeit to the so many who can’t get past the enter button, very happy to the world it opens to me with the ability to side load. (And the problems I’m having making this basic post, going back through to a email sort of bewildering).
I sort of wish I can see a reason be upset by this ..and accepting a great amount of the Company statements - like all - are BS.
The ability to cause damage and a ruckus is really grand, and that essentially anyone can be one is very concerning. Simply, a base “reputation,” record, perhaps becoming a few different grouped o location or area of development) makes a good first line).
Quality of person or group, not their product the key to using the system.
You beat me to it. Thankfully KODI is in the Play store….well as of today anyway

All I can say is we were all told to forget FireTV devices, because they were getting intrusive or difficult to modify. We were advised to go with ONN or other Android boxes to avoid this, but now those, too, are being changed. Don’t think for one minute this will be the end of it. It is a cat & mouse game and trust me……we are the mice!
