Posted earlier how I normally create a Trakt list of the Oscar Nominee’s Best Pictures and try and watch most of them (Some I just won’t and in the past few years the “won’t watch” list is getting longer). Watched the 1st last night in Marty Supreme. Gotta say this is just a horrible movie IMO. Total Dog Shi$! Filmed using an old grainy process to make the 1950’s era it is in look realistic? Are you kidding me. And how can anyone like the character Timothee Chalamet plays?. WOW Just WOW -1 out of 5 stars

LOL! @Miki the Film was purposely shot with crap 35 MM to give it the “Old School” look. 21 degrees in Central Texas feels like 10. Stay warm as well @Miki

Well that explains a lot. I don’t remember them advertising this in their promotions. A shame as the story may be ignored because of this. Oh and it’s presently minus 40 here. Boilers working overtime.
i just can’t wrap my head around that kinda thinking, if the story is well written, with interesting charecters, and actors that do their job, i will be immersed in the whole experience, why would i want to see it in crappy visuals, just because old times the quality was rough, doesn’t mean the people who lived back then the saw the world that way….

Academy is getting panned on the reviews by critics and Trek fans.
I watched the 2nd episode at high speed.
No action, no ships, and very sewage PC. The DEI is nauseating.

I enjoyed the first two, but you guys are right, the 3rd episode sucked and that’s a shame. The exact same thing happened with strange new worlds. Started out like a house on fire and then did some idiotic themes like singing everything and then an opera episode so I killed that as well.
I’m removing my positive review which was based on the first episode only. I was so excited to see a Trek series back I kinda jumped the gun.

The opera episode made me stop witching that season.
I think they realized they made the Bud Light error of an entire series. They promised it would be better than next year or so we’re still waiting

It’s almost like whatever slop the so-called writers come up with, they intentionally bend it to promotes some kind of agenda. Sling it up against the wall to see if it sticks. I wish the brand and franchise well, but as an avid consumer and loyal trekkie since the very first episode of the original series (STOS), I’m both deeply dissapointed and actually concerned the whole StarTrek kit-and-kaboodle will be jettisoned to interstellar. Not too long from now im hoping someone will come up with a series that resonates with us aging boomers. I just dont have the desire nor energy to try to adapt to others agendas and lifestyles I dont care about. Even if it is “In the Future”. So sayeth me the grumpster: “Leave my Damn Star-Trek ALONE. - over.”

All I got to say is beam me up Scottie. Tv in the last 2 yrs has gone for a royal ****. No real good sci fi series. And I’m with you @Reece 1000%. Where on gods name have the good writers gone?

I truly believe that since the red strike and maybe even before there has been an agenda in Hollywood, but DEI and I’m not sure if I can get away with saying on Troy point, but let’s just say alternate lifestyles and they transferred that over to a proven series and just ruined it.
If you look at Star Trek Discovery, they lost warp power, and the lithium crystals to some universal whatever and now they have to use flower power to drive their warp engines come on enough is enough the hippies and the sexual revolution of the 60s should not be taken a hole now it’s just garbage
