Getting TiviMate to store on KM1 Deluxe external storage (usb flash drive)

I feel like a weenie asking this, but after hours of searching here and with TP tutorials, I managed not to find “system picker”, nor can I figure out how to use X-plore. There didn’t really seem to be a comprehensive guide on how to do this. Some reported a similar problem with a Mecool device but the thread timed out without a solution.

The problem is not getting Tivimate settings>>other>>storage>>recordings>>recordings folder>>select folder to recognize the KM1 Deluxe usb flash drive external storage. I did my first Tivimate recording and it worked great, but it went to Tivimate storage (I think). And perhaps it’s simply me not being able to recognize the usb flash drive label in the “select folder” list. Here are the folders I’m seeing there: unlabled folder (which I think is internal shared storage), Alarms, Android, DCIM, Download, Downloader, Dranbox, FilmPlus, Movies, Music, Notifications, Pictures, Podcast, Ringtones, and VSLOG.

I think I’m doing something fundamentally wrong with the flash drive (I formatted it as external storage a couple of weeks ago – but maybe I should put the apps I have stored there back in internal storage and reformat it again as external storage. Kind of stuck at looking at X-plore file manager and not knowing what to do with it.

What I normally would do is format the usb on my pc as ntfs, then put in mecool and see if its found as external, then use xplore and find the new drive, highlight it then in middle click create folder, name it whatever and done. Within tivimate, recordings navigate to that folder and choose it and save. Then in tivimate click a show and hit record. If its setup it should continue recording, if setup wrong it will stop recording

Win 10 wont format in ntfs.

Thats just my method, the km1 will format the drive as needed for external use. Then you can create the folder in explorer on that drive. Make it a unique name so you are sure when directing to it youve hit the right place. Often people will direct the download to a similar name on internal and fill the drive up causing lotsa issues.

I’m looking at X-plore now and I don’t know where to even find the usb flash drive. I’m basically looking at: internal shared storage, Root, LAN, FTP, Web storage, SSH File Transfer, Wi-Fi file sharing, DNLA, Vault, and Show…on the right side of Xplore, and on the left side is: Internal shared Storage, Root, App Manager, and Show.

Not sure where to go here.

sometimes its all about permissions permissions permissions…also usb settings, you might try swapping to mtp in dev settings

I have this exact same issue with my new Fire Cube. I formatted the USB as an internal drive but can’t find the drive in order to tell Tivimate to record to it. I can move apps to the USB but that’s it

Try setting the drive to external for recording.

Yup, now I can see the USB drive and can set Tivimate to record there

My flash drive (usb) is already set to external storage, but Xplore or Tivimate still can’t find it. Did you move your apps to internal storage from the USB before you reformatted to external storage? This is what I’ll try next…I think.

Yes, I moved them and then formatted to external

Okay, that seemed to work. The “android” and external storage symbol shows up in Xplore. Now isn’t there another step? Creating a Tivimate folder in there somewhere to send the recordings to?

Highlighted the “android” folder under external storage in Xplore and then tried to create a new “tivimate” folder using the menu in the center of Xplore (“create new folder”). Nothing showed up as a new folder…
