same thing here . I noticed mine slowed down when I upgraded to 3.2…Dunno whats going on
295 Mbps on ONN without VPN
57 Mbps on Onn with VPN
On my Fire TV, I can’t even connect with the VPN. When I try the screen goes black and it reloads itself. I have everything loaded on an external thumb drive that I can, yet it’s still appears to be memory deficient.
I have one complaint about Onn and Google TV’s and that’s that they won’t allow you to use certain apps. For instance, I use Flo Racing a lot and to watch that I have to struggle with the FireTV, a Firestick, or watch on the computer. Certain apps that work on an android phone won’t work on the Android boxes
Also, I use the Wolf Laucher with both. On ONN it opens immediately to the Launcer. On Fire TV, I have to manually load the launcer and that entails waiting for all the Amazon ads and suggestions to come up before I’m even able to use the remote to click on the launcher. It’s very frustrating.
Speedtest from my end wirelessly is never accurate, varying sometimes by more than 70-80mbps. Having Speedtest directly wired is much more accurate and faster.
i too use the FloRacing app a lot on my BuzzTV Android Box…works flawlessly.I am hard wired using CAT8 cables to TMob Home Internet Sagemcom Router.have you tried to open the Flo App on a browser instead of the standalone app?..sometimes that works if the app isn’t…just an FYI.
I use it on my firestick and fireTV, but it’s not available for a “smart” Google TV or Onn. If I don’t have access to my firestick, I usually open it on my phone and cast to the TV. It works. It’s strange that it’s available for Android phones, but not Android TV, and I even tried downloading and loading the phone app to the TV. Didn’t work. LOL Depending on what I’m doing, I may open another window on my computer.
I am the OP and at 70 years old, all of your replies leave me in the dust. Way over my head. I use Surfshark, Tivimate and IPTV, This past Sunday I could barely watch NFL. Where should I connect my VPN? Any other advise?
What are your speeds with and without VPN. What location do you normally use for SS? What protocol are you using? I think you mentioned you contacted IPTV service, they blame ISP, what do they say?
Over 300 mbps/85 connected to Surfshark fastest location which is Miami but have tried all over the world particularly for NFL on Sunday. Wireguard protocol.
IPTV says ISP is throttling.
I also notice certain apps I have to force stop and clear cache to get them to work, like Pandora for example.
If you are getting 85mbps through the VPN and 300 without, your ISP isn’t throttling. This is a normal set of numbers and plenty of speed for the service to work smoothly. Can you get a trial with another IPTV provider to prove that it is on their side? If this one works great, you know where the issue is.
540Mbps with SS wireguard detroit, 579Mbps no VPN.
That test was today not when I was having the problem. I will check Sunday. I will also watch the tutorial. Thanks
Just tried Detroit. A little faster. About 90. I am only paying for 300 hotwheels you must be buying faster.
Just read the article. Good info. I use Tivimate with my Firestick 4k and it made a great improvement for my VOD. I watch mostly live TV. Maybe I need to upgrade to a Fire TV cube or Nvidia Shield.
I pay for 500mbps and I am wired.
Just read Troy’s review of the cube. Wondering if I would benefit? I keep my Firestick very clean and always have 1.30GB storage available. Keeping in mind my problem is buffering with live TV on my IPTV.
Any thoughts?
Even the Max would be a step up. Can’t go wrong with either. Extra processing power should help, and can’t hurt…
Going for a second cup of coffee. So I am getting there!
I used to get similar 20-25% speed hits against my max speeds when running SS on version 2.7.3 - since update to 3.0.0 (and higher), I take a 50-60% hit now. Wireguard - Chicago/Buffalo/Boston…
