Note: this could have been placed in the apps catagory, toss up

Looks promising, if they don’t go crazy on the price.

I have the free version installed, looks nice…A work in progress

Here’s a link to their webpage with some package pricing and info.

In the picture the box offered looks alot like an hdhomerun box. I have 2 flex boxes that look very much like it :face_with_monocle:… wondering if this service is just built upon that?

That’s what I am thinking, too. Also, I wonder how this stacks up with Sling and their Air thing?\

Btw, In my research I have read that the intended price is to be about a one-time charge of $200.00

saw that. $200 really isnt bad if its at least a 4 tuner system and the plus and home claim is 5…so we shall see and they might want to re-think the name “freecast”

I am tempted go ahead and get that thing.

They say you can play content from services that require their own app to play. So, I wonder if you can download apps like Tivimate?

I would contact them about that before investing. I’m interested also due to the one stop shop aspect but too many unknowns with tivimate being a big one. Would like to be able to pick say a dozen channels from all over and favorite them at the top… am I asking too much :joy:

There is a free version where you are just using their app and the give a “free” antenna (just pay S&H lol). The $30 buck a year one is the same, but they give 3 antenna and pay the shipping. The $200 one-time one they give a box and a super duper antenna :smirk: Also, for $30 bucks a year you can get their Value Channels. Which are an assortment of 18 streaming channels where I would probably use a little over half of them.

It looks like they take all those free apps and load them onto their app. So, instead of having tons of apps on a device you would have one that accesses all those apps.

You should get this just for the box and tear it open and see how to improve it! lol

e

sure looks like an hdhomerun box. I thought the $30 was a one time fee?

no can do, too much for free channels. I will have a nas on line next week and figure something out on my own…actually I have a mini nas now but im beefin’ up

I nbelieve I read somewhere (can’t find it now) they even give you a 1TB flash drive with the box…not sure though. So that means the box should have some ports. Ports means I can do stuff to it.

If the box is a streaming device coming fully loaded and can download other apps making it customizable. Then the $200 buck pop isn’t too out of the ballpark.

if its like a hdhomerun its not an android box but rather just an astc tuner to play antenna channels on your lan to other devices.

a homerun has a usb port for recordings if needed

So the tuner is just to get live and dvr. Then the app is the whole shown and they offer a FREE package for that. However, if they have ports then I would think you can hookup a device to, but then that defeats the whole purpose of the system.

kinda scammish sounding actually, lipstick on a pig…take an already known device, add glitter and a little tweaking and booom$$$$$ we’re in the money
