Thanks a bunch Troy! When I look at the numbers from these tests and see the numbers being better on the G1 box over the Z11 Pro Max & the Z12 Ultra both it is so depressing really. Knowing how much more I had to cough up for the Z12 Ultra than the G1 & seeing that the results are better than the Realtek 1319 chip in the Z12/Z11’s really hurts to think about. The next Formuler new device needs to be far better than this Z12 Ultra for sure. More ram & a much faster processor is the 2 things we all would love to see. I really enjoyed seeing the numbers from the Buzz box you done. I don’t feel it is really needed to be that intensive for just streaming mainly but always a pleasure to get things done faster. I feel the ram is the absolute best improvement as it helps the device think. The 2 gig on the Pro version is a severe crippler as it only has 400 and some meg to use once the operating system is up and running. First thing I done to my new home computer when I bought it was change out the 16 gig of ram to put it up to the 64 max that it can run. The more brains the better! ![]()
Oh yes, the Formuler boxes are overpriced. I do like them overall because I love the launcher & MOL3 really, & it gets the job done. Reality is though if I buy any more due to the failure I had I will opt for the open box Z11 Pro Max from the Formulerstore. Only 140 & will do all just as decently as the Z12 Ultra without the higher price tag. I thank you for the compliment, & thank you for sharing these results. When I seen this link I seen the v6 before pulling it up & thought oh, it has v8 full 64 bit archetecture. You can’t run the 6 having to use the 5 from geekbench to test the non v8a devices. Man, looking at these numbers really puts all 3 I tested to shame! If you don’t mind peeking at this link to confirm this is the proper unit you tested here, but unless there is another version of the AM9 which I don’t believe there is then this is it. At this price though it also confirms to us that Formuler is over the top price wise. I know the certification thing is a big player in it, but the G1 is a certified box with a far less price tag, & although being forced to log in immediately with a google log in to even get started with it, I was able to get rid of the log in & block all of googles crap anyhow, so it’s really not an issue for me. That isn’t my test, I just searched for it.

I bought my AM9 from the vendor you linked to and from my usage it is very quick and in most usage, you can’t tell it from my Ugoos SK! that has a S928 in it but is 32bit OS.
Good points regarding device actual performance vs. the marketing. The AM9 pulls a total Antutu benchmark score of about 271,000, very good numbers but well below the BuzzTV PS6, which is currently #1 on test scores. However, sometimes you have to look a lot deeper to see the actual performance capability of these devices. The PS6, despite all the hype over the specifications, does not have any AI, processor, or picture upscaling settings or the amount of settings options, like the Ugoos AM9. The AM9 also has the latest state of the art Amlogic S905X5 processor, 64 bit processing enabled, unlike the Z12, which is using the same Realtek processor as the Z11. The AM9 is also a better value, costing much less than either the PS6 or the Z12.
Absolutely. I think the AM9 is the sweet spot right now.
For what you get, and the build quality is great. The metal case is a tank and keeps it cool. I know some people don’t like the antennas, but the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth reception is great. It is open so you can do what you want and since it is already on A14 it will probably be good to go for years.
It has Widevine Certification Level 3 instead of level 1 and re Android 14, hopefully doesn’t have problems Onn has - as Troy once commented that a stable OS is better than having the latest OS
I think going forward streaming quality files will require Widevine level 1.
Formuler is more focused on IPTV - MYTVOnline 3 app.
Hopefully they will listen to customers more and fix the issues with Z12 Ultra.
The Z12 Ultra users I know have stopped using the poorly designed remote cover
I have the ONN 4K Pro with Android 14. What problems are you referring to? I have zero issues with Android 14 on my ONN Box
I have no problems streaming anything I want with Widevine level 1 and I’m willing to bet most on this sight wouldn’t either. I will never need Netflix support etc.
Android 14 had given me zero problems on my Ugoos or Onn devices; I even upgraded my SK1 to A14. There is talk of stuttering with interlaced British TV but for what I watch there is a hevc stream available and it plays perfectly. As far as the people with USB storage problems etc. I use SMB and have no problems with my network share.
When you check the prices on Alibaba/Aliexpress for a box with the same specs as Formuler boxes you can figure out the cost of their software/remote/support and decide if it is worth it. For me it’s not.
Thanks
But that doesn’t explain why the same settings work fine on my Z11 & Mini
Thank you Mike, but I pretty well know I need to do the hard factory reset first thing. It is doing some insane mental crazy issues & it’s my only hope of saving it. I will do the button hard reset using the button inside the 3.5mm jack then see how it does. If I get fortunate enough that it has some buggered up software in it that it will fix then I will be able to save it.

Well I do believe it is healed. I hard reset it by the pin inside the 3.5 & so far so good. I have had a couple of weird issues, one of which is when I set shortcuts on my hotkeys they didn’t work the way I set them until I rebooted the box. So far it’s stable & working good now.
I always have an android remote app installed on my phone for instances like this .
Does anybody else here have the Z12 Ultra box unable to play Dolby Vision content? It just doesn’t load or crashes. I tried resetting the box, but the issue is still the same.
