Interesting, it’s still working on my 2nd gen 4k max with the latest Amazon software.
Early stick don’t seem to be effected probably because they don’t get the very latest update I have an early stick as well and it’s a all ok but 4K blocks flixvision all other apps are fine
Two of my apps were blocked by Amazon - FlixVision and LiveNetTV. Both of these apps require users to allow use of your CPU and bandwidth by the developers and I think this is what Amazon is catching them on. As of this morning, my Firestick 4kMax (2nd gen) wasn’t having this issue so it may just be an issue with OS6 devices. EDIT: Well, Amazon has now blocked those two apps on my original 2nd gen stick and 4kMax 2nd gen stick also. So I guess we are SOL!
My 4K Max 2nd edition is not showing this problem - it will load and run Stremio, Streamfire, Smarttube, Cinema and Kodi. I don’t have flixvision. The OS is 8.1.4.0.
Maybe there is an OS update which causes this issue which has not been rolled out to me yet, or maybe there is something about the apps which allows them to be blocked - who knows!
I am in the US.
Sounds like you don’t have any of the offending apps. You may be OK.
Yes apps that allow cpu use are targets flixvision is one of the main ones for this
I just tried the RedboxTV APK (which is basically the same as LiveNetTV, including the resource sharing requirement) and that is blocked also. It will install, but it won’t run.
This is why I switched to the Onn 4K Pro box. It has been great and no issues. I added 256gb to the prime storage and it is working very well.
I do a Restart every few days and this keeps it running very well.
I think we need to Waite an see what happens atm it’s only apps that want to use cpu if Amazon starts with apps that don’t then start to look for another device until then keep on streaming as @Miki would say
Both of mine are good so far,but it keeps asking me to update the app and i don’t. I thought something was kinda weird
Same here. Was told onscreen to uninstall it as it would no longer be allowed to function due to being a malicious app. Was not given a choice. Just paid for RD too so I could watch it.
I hate Kodi so will have to try and find another simple non aggravating APK to install.
Give Stremio a try. Been using it for years. Works like a dream for me. Do a search here and you’ll find Troy has turorials and vids as well as many posts to help you set it up and use it.
Stremio looks similar to Kodi, where you have to go in add ons and add those. That aggravates the s##t out of me to have to do that. It’s why I do not mess with Kodi.
Just looking for something simple like Onstream where you can just download it and watch.
Been using KODI for almost 10 years. There’s a reason why these Shite APK’s like Flix, Bee, Onstream, shite apk of the day always fail while KODI and Stremio have worked for so long. Sure it’s easy to use these 1 click APK’s but in the end they typically don’t last. I see so many posts here from people looking for the next 1 click APK. Sure it might be a bit more work but once you learn it’s all good
Simple configuration for Stremio and no need for repos and a ton of typing. 123 addons all in one place with simple setup. Usually a one click to install. Some do need extra config if you’re using premium server services, but I haven’t touched my setup in many many months and then it isn’t out of need to “fix” something but mostly out of curiosity for something new.
I used Kodi when it first came out. Bought a TV and a jailbroken fire stick off Craigslist years ago. From there learned how to jailbreak the fire stick on my own. Then it was very easy to use. With the rise in tech everything becomes more complicated and just aggravating. I got tired of being halfway through a movie and losing the stream, or it starts buffering, so I stopped using it.
All good here, but don’t click on the update
