I had previously turned Play Protect off and Flix Vision worked well on my 2019 Shield Pro. Today I find that it has been disabled and I am unable to find a way to allow it to run. Is anybody else seeing this and can anyone share how they solved the problem?
It still seems to be working on the Onn 4k Plus box.
I’m glad to hear that you are not having the same problem on your ONN 4K Plus.
My workaround is to reinstall the app using Xplore each time I want to use it. During this process Play Protect warns me but at least I can tell it to install anyway.
I’m still interested in hearing from other Shield users regarding their experiences with this issue.
I presume your trying to use version 3.1.2r. Try deleting that version and installing version 3.1.1r using Downloader code 5650180

Sadly, Google won’t allow the installation. The first screen after selecting “Install” is from Play Protect stating “Harmful app blocked”. When selecting “More details” and “Install anyway” a new Play Protect screen opens which says “App blocked by Advanced Protection”. “Advanced Protection only allows apps from Google Play and other app stores pre-installed on your phone.”
I was able to find how to unenroll from Advanced Protection. Instructions are here:

Google says it may take 24 hours for the change to become effective. I’ll report back if unenrolling solves my problem.
Use the search and search for >> disable google play protect.
