how do you uninstall or shut down theses apps: amazon kids, amazon live shopping, amazon photos, app store, and game circle. I never use these so all they do is take up memory and run in the background. I use the deblotter to stop updates as Troy show us but I do not know what turns these apps off.
Thank you
Don
Hi welcome to the community.
Here are two links from TP manuals about how to remove or uninstall apps.
These apps can not be removed.
Scroll down to table of contents then follow the steps. This is also from TP manual. @sktn77a this is the right manual to disable the apps
Yes, you can certainly shut down these apps but I think the OP was looking for ways to remove them completely and free up the storage space. I don’t believe this can be done.
Those manuals are how to uninstall apps.
But not to remove the system apps.
Mr. Matrix is correct. You can easily uninstall any apps you have installed, but you cannot uninstall or now disable “Amazon” system apps. The best you can now do, as they are becoming “protected” in subsequent updates, is to use a file management app like x-plore, find those system apps and click uninstall, they won’t, but what you will get is a popup asking if you want to restore this app to factory settings, clicking yes will uninstall any updates and restore it back to the smaller original factory size. Now this is how it use to be. I haven’t tried this recently after my latest update to 7.2.7.9 on my Max and it could be different.
I would like to issue a warning though be very careful what you modify or remove as you may brick your stick by disabling needed modules.
You can’t uninstall, these are Amazon apps. You can hide them, but they are still there.
You can’t even hide them any more in “manage installed apps” with the latest update to 7.2.7.9 on the Max. Even with the unified debloat tool from tduk you can’t. Things like Amazon shopping, Kids, Music are all protected modules now. But it doesn’t matter to me as I don’t see them on my home page as I’m there for mere seconds and they only show in my apps>manage installed apps. If you see them in the new “My apps” click the hamburger and remove.
My 4K FS is using OS6. What I posted is for OS6.
Aha. Tx for the clarification. It helps to focus precise info and responses. That’s why I included my OS version in my answer. Have a good day.
