Maybe I missed it, but is there a way to stop my firestick from playing full screen ads on startup?

Yes. Turn off autoplay and auto audio.
From the Home screen, select the Settings option.
In the Settings menu, select Preferences and then choose Featured Content.
Select Allow Video Autoplay to turn it off.
Next, select Allow Audio Autoplay to turn that off as well.
Go back to the Home screen and scroll over one of the video ads to make sure auto-play has been disabled. The directions are all part of Troy’s following vid.
