Firestick changing inputs

Hi folks , I have every version of firestick that has been out . I just got a new firestick 4k max . If i switch to another input —Dish tv etc after about 5 minutes it switches back to the firestick . This hasnt happened on any of my other devices. Any ideas ? Thanks

Not sure but it shouldn’t change the input unless it is trying to, or has, connected to the internet and trying to start a stream. Do you turn the firestick off or put it to sleep?

thanks ,this like my 4th in the house and the others on this same tv worked fine . Say i watch a movie on my stick and then I switch to hdmi2 to watch football on direct tv. about 5 minutes and it switches back to homepage on stick .

Got ya. Ok. Read the following thread. This may be just a setting.

havent tried turning off before switching inputs

Press the Home button on your remote.
Click on the gear icon to open the Settings Menu.
Go to “Equipment Control”.
Click on “Equipment Control” and change it to “Manually”.

Sounds like it’s waking up and sending an input command to the TV and forcing it to switch inputs. Give the above a try.
I always shut the 4K Max off so I’ve not had that issue and when I wanted to use it, then I’d fire it up and my input would switch. I never used “sleep”.
