Firestick asking for child pin after update

I was gifted a second hand firestick which I had hoped to use as a backup. After a major update this morning, instead of going to the home screen, 2 user names appear and when I click on either of them I get a screen asking for a child pin. I do not know the previous owner so cannot get the pin. Can anybody help me restore the home screen even if it means a factory reset.

I did come across this. Not sure it will work for you but it’s worth a try

Thanks for reply. Tried it without success. Not a problem as I already have a firestick 4k max. I was hoping to set it up for my grandson. I should have changed it to my name before allowing any updates.

Problem solved. Managed to re-set to factory settings.

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, I could not use this method as I could not access the home screen without knowing the child pin. After googling, I found that I could do a factory reset by pressing and holding the back and right buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In setting change the account to your account, hold the home button down and go to setting.
