I have a new 4K Max using and ethernet connection and a recent Firestick 4K connected with Wi-Fi. Both devices will open Peacock, let me select a movie or TV show, play the trailer (video and audio) on the “play” screen – but then display the whirling circle for several minutes before going back to the previous screen. My Roku will stream Peacock content flawlessly on the same network as do my computers. All other apps on both Firesticks work properly – Kodi, Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc. I am using the Wolf Launcher on both devices. I uninstalled and re-installed the Peacock app multiple times from the Amazon app store and also using the Troypoint app. No change. I even returned the 4K Max and got a replacement device with no change in behavior. I have Spectrum as my ISP. I was hoping to retire my Roku and use the Firesticks for IPTV, Kodi, and the other apps. Any thoughts or suspicions about what could be causing this or do I have to retain the Roku for Peacock programming ?
Are you streaming with a vpn?
I just tried downloading and installing it on my 4k Max. It downloads and appears to install but will not open or run.
No. I tried but Peacock does not allow VPNs. I thought maybe Spectrum was interfering with the streaming and a VPN might help, but could not use. As mentioned, Roku streams Peacock perfectly on the same network through the same router.
Everything seems to have returned to normal – Peacock TV streams successfully on both Firestick 4K and 4K Max. The only thing that has changed is that, my I.P Address (essentially my router traffic) and many others in my community were inadvertently put on a “Policy Blocklist” by Spectrum. This totally prevented outgoing email from 3rd party apps but somehow it must have also prevented streaming from Peacock. Anyway, when I got the block removed, Peacock started streaming fine again – same as Roku Ultra. So, it appears that the hardware, Peacock app, and related settings were no at fault. It was Spectrum firewall mistakenly blocking my I.P. Address. Thanks for your suggestions.
