I am so sorry you started out with such a bad experience, but really how were you to know. Please don’t let the experience sour you on streaming. I test dozens of apps on my Max, use Stremio for all my Movies and Series, Tivimate for all my live TV, and then have all the little toys for cleaning and security. So take a deep breath, put this all behind you and before you know it you’ll be streaming like a pro.
Dear MIKI can you help when it says amazon account required
i watched a you tube vi… which said initially you need a amazon account but once you have loaded kodi
you can deregister your account…but said with no amazon account some features wiill not work i am assuming { No Amazon Account…No Alexa?? hope you can help me

As far as my experience goes you have to have an Amazon account to register and use the sticks. Yes I’ve seen all the do this, then that, stand on your head and spit a wooden knickle out and you’re g2g. I never ever got one to work or load let alone run, without regging to an Amazon account. now to be clear YOU DO NOT NEED AN AMAZON PRIME ACCOUNT, you only need a generic Amazon account. Deregging, when I tried, made the stick almost useless. Couldn’t do much, let alone advanced operations. I actually have 3 accounts, 1 Canadian, 1 American, 1 Mexican, as each has access to different App stores with varying content. Not sure why you would want to dereg a stick. Now that being said, when a customer gives me they’re log in to reg a stick, they will get a notice usually via sms or txt and will recieve a code I must enter when setting it up. 2FA sort of thing and makes it safer for them. After I do this I make sure to tell them to change they’re Amazon account password for safety and privacy.
Hi IRONEAGLE1, I think in hindsight you should have started off by watching more TroyPoint videos regarding how to jailbreak a FireTV stick. All is not lost. Watch Troy’s videos on how to jailbreak the FireTV stick on the TP website. Have you registered the Firestick to your own Amazon account? Have you tried factory resetting the stick to have a completely new start? I hope you did not pay too much over the actual purchase price of a FTV Stick than you would from Amazon. I have not paid for a jailbroken stick as you can do it for FREE yourself by following Troy’s videos. It really is not that difficult and I think if you have mastered a smartphone then it should be no problem at all. Mostly though lookup Troy’s videos there are many good pieces of advice in them … At no charge at all.

You can cast to your TV from your laptop.
He could not have picked a better place other than Troypoint to talk him through a frustrating and unfortunate Firestick situation, and get him cord cutting as soon as possible!

i should of just done all thisc back in november after watching a troypoint video on YT but something kept niggling me with the friend this guy bought it from at the time
i guess i was hanging on to a theory this friend ( was gonna help) truth be hes works mighty fine so he was just stalling me so id give up in the end i guess i am saying

Point was, I was just giving you an alternative to watch something until you got your streaming device figured out.
You don’t need a “Chromecast thingy” to cast to your TV!
personally, I would have already run to the local Wally World and got one of those cheap ONN or a basic FS just to get by until you decided on which quality device you really want to buy and use as your daily driver.
Sometimes just going to Wally World is entertainment enough! It’s like one of those reality TV shows!
I know exactly how this guy feels. 3 years ago I was trying to get something besides DirecTV to stream. Couldn’t find nothing. I started researching the internet wasn’t getting any information that was positive. Then i started receiving emails from this troypoint.com guy. Whos this??? So I started answering him on his personal email. Couple times he answered me then he started ignoring me they finally told me to get on the troypoint insider. I didn’t realize the troypoint insider existed. So I got on it started researching it I was on the insider for a month before I even realize there’s a troy-point.com. OK ! I must of sometime during my research signed up for troypoint.com without even realizing it and getting the updates thinkin they were personal emails! LOL!! So I was this guy three years ago. I feel for you. Just read the material and experiment and it will come to u.
P.S. watch out for the moderator! He’s the one wearing a mask looks like a burglar! LOL !

i am unsure wether this is worth mentioning but i did have an Amazon Account a whiles back for trhe app on my smartphone ( would you recommend i try and re activate this account or is this me just being thick lol bit off a pun but trust me me doing this is shaky qnd i sound like a right wally lol i like the name of that store
if one was in uk id just go and do whatr trhe guy with shopping trolly is doing bieng a wally by walking backwards round the store
in the U.K the wally store we have is called IKEA its all marked out with arrows so to me thats like yeah lets go back to school and follow the arrows unless we may get lost lol

Take your stick over to the friend with 3 that work and test it there. If it works there then it’s something at your house. If not maybe he can help you fix yours,if not come back here and we will assist you with whatever you need. Good luck

And another thing Pete, most of us here treat this as some sort of cruel hobby ha ha. It’s a little intimidating at first, but the TroyPoint guides are so straightforward that you can’t fail. There are still new things popping up to keep us interested, but like I said, treat it like a hobby and a challenge. And nothing always works perfectly. I (we?) still have to do things like clear cache and force stop unneeded apps sometimes to get solid feeds. I agree you should reset it to factory. And start over with TP guides.

I’ll get there with all you peeps help and then mebbe give it a couple of months I too can then say to another newbie.
Heres how it’s all a bit overwhelming at moment
