We have a firestick on every tv in the house. We also have amazon unlimited music. almost every day amazon music freezes, I have contacted amazon but they are no help. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, I wanted to say that our nvidia shield never freezes.
The majority of time, regardless of your internet speed, Amazon Music freezing is due to an internet interruption, and this is on WiFi. So you may have something interrupting the signal. First thing is to try using the 5GHz band. If that fails then I recommend using an ethernet connection for uninterrupted streams.

Yes, I use a VPN on all my devices. But the nvidia shield never freezes so it’s time to get rid of the firesticks and upgrade to better devices.

I would highly recommend Bypassing Amazon Music in the VPN settings. Amazon stuff doesnt like being routed through it.

you are right so i checked and it is routed through.thank you.It still freezes on the firesticks but not the nvidia shield.I need to get rid of the cheap firestick crap.
I’m not going to argue with upgrading from the Firesticks if it is monetarily feasible. But I would bypass the VPN with the Amazon Music app, do a reboot/reload/reset, clean the sticks, clear cache, etc etc etc. If that doesn’t help and you are still unhappy, then maybe you can start deciding to go that route.

You have the 2015, 2017, 2019 Shield Pros. Both of these are the pro version…not the tube!
I know where there is an extra Tube Shield! 
To each their own. I have programmed literally hundreds of Max sticks and obviously love them. As do my customers. They work flawlessly if you know what you’re doing. I’d love to be there beside you to help you troubleshoot, but sounds like you’ve made up your mind. Just remember, even the much vaunted Shield pro had huge issues with an update. Stuff happens, and sometimes the only answer is patience.
