I’d like to make a flash drive of product that I can move from device to device to watch, so I don’t want to format it as internal storage. On my Mecool KM6 Deluxe, it wants to store everything internally, and doesn’t seem to want me to move it to the flash drive (using ES). Is there a way to do this am overlooking? Would it be easier for me to download onto the flash from another device, then just plug the flash drive into the Mecool? I’ve got an ONN, a FS Max, and a FS 4K.
Look in device prefs>>> developer options>>> and scroll all the way to bottom for host/otg settings
Is this where you were going
the other nite?
I noticed while digging around. Its very specific to km6 as ive not seen that on my km2’s or any other box.
I was actually looking at that, but didn’t know if it would help me…
otg = on the go You might need to try a little this and a little of that…I was messing with these settings a few days and going crazy ![]()
Maybe isn’t as straight forward as you’d assume. I’d think that having Apps on any flash drive and running them on multiple devices when you plug the drive in, won’t work! The Apps likely need to have been ‘installed’ on your chosen device and have data root directories within the OS. I may be wrong, as I’ve not tried, but if you have the App sitting on a drive and try to run it, its going to look for installation data that is not on the device, so in theory, when you click the App, you’d be installing it on the new device, not ‘running’ it from the external drive.
Yeah, I wouldn’t expect them to. That’s why I didn’t want to put apps on the flash drive, just stuff to watch.
I’m still running into permission problems when trying to move a show from the internal storage to the flash drive; and I can’t find where I can change the file path where downloaded files are saved to. I’d rather not have to set syncler up on my computer, and fill the flash drive from there; but I’m not seeing a way to do it.
Yeah, my KM6 Deeeeeluxe is back from an extended time out. It’s wonky black outs were tap dancing on my last nerve, so it was put it away for awhile, or carefully place it on the ground and stomp the ever lovin’
out of it ! ![]()
I have had no issues like that. Streaming is actually very good. My only problems have been lifting the hood and changing spark plugs…cant seem ti find the carborator either ![]()
I see!, get you now. So it’s more content saved that you want to access and view.
Maybe this has some info that may be helpful:
No, but thanks for trying! Figured I’d take a break and watch SHORESY before the thing ends up back in a time out!![]()
It’s my understanding that on the 4K Max if you set the storage up to external then anything placed on there can be played on any other device or accessed by those devices. I know you were looking at the KM but I also noticed you had a Max. May be helpful until you get the KM figured out.
Yeah, that’s what I was wondering. I’ll give that a try tomorrow!
I don’t record so I set mine up for internal. In My Fire TV>USB drive you’ll see the following screen and I believe that’s what you want.
Please keep us updated I’d like to know how you make out. Tx & GL.
Yes, that’s exactly the screen I was thinking about when I wondered if my best bet is using the FS to download all content on the flash drive to play on other devices. I know the Mecool didn’t have that screen, and I don’t recall seeing that on the ONN. If it does work, that’ll be the only reason I keep a FS around.
No carborator, it uses electron injection.
Troy has a tutorial for this. Instead of using private on the ADB command you used mixed like 40 will give you the extra storage and the other 60% is for data. I don’t use mine like this, but you can use it with the PC, Youtube will have some tutorial for this also.
