Very cool option, thanks for the link. Are there any options out there like these adapters that offer a gigabit port on them?

We’ll have to thank Micki for this one! I’m sure there is a gigabyte option one it’ll be a little more money.

This is one I found that does Gigabit speed but does not have power and is usb instead of usb-c. https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Ethernet-1000Mbps-Nintendo-Chromebook/dp/B00LLUEJFU/ref=pd_day0fbt_sccl_1/135-6889860-5115858?pd_rd_w=8UpAv&content-id=amzn1.sym.9b14949a-3979-4b7d-b182-b07adcc4c0e7&pf_rd_p=9b14949a-3979-4b7d-b182-b07adcc4c0e7&pf_rd_r=7E1FVSR6FMTJ2CZTYJH0&pd_rd_wg=GsuAs&pd_rd_r=9ae5ba18-9ee6-4397-af7f-1e8506cbc5ac&pd_rd_i=B00LLUEJFU&psc=1

On a wired setup the firestick only has a 10/100 switch. But 100Mbps down is plenty. The only reason you might go this route is if you have WiFi interference or physical blocks like walls etc. A hard wired setup will eliminate those issues. Another small note, the smays powered hub has the micro usb port for the Firesticks and is an OTG hub and does not require an additional OTG cable for hookup. Mine works like a dream. My only upgrade I would like to see is faster data transfer rates. So powered + USB 3.0 not 2.0

For sure 100Mbps is plenty, I just was curious if there was a gigabit version available out there somewhere. Some people have Gigabit internet service and pay a lot of money for it, so for them to use that full speed capability would be neat.

Agreed, as long as the device is capable of using that and the only way this would help is if doing 8K streaming. Sorta like having a Superbike that is capable of speeds over 320Kph but you’re stuck in a 50 kph speed zone and can’t go faster. A waste of money and horse power. At that point it becomes more about latency, noise, and packet loss.

Perfect analogy! I often think about the guy dreaming of an 8K TV so he can sit 10 feet away from it and wondering why his eyeballs are aching while wearing his supermarket glasses that cost him a fiver :joy::joy:. A wee bit of research into visual acuity could save him a lot of money :sunglasses:
