EPG not auto updating on Tivimate when connected to VPN

,

For the last few days, my EPG in the 2 IPTV playlists I have in Tivimate will not auto update while connected to my Surfshark VPN connected to my usual locations. I thought it was the Tivimate update to 5.3.1, but I didn’t update my other Firestick & it’s doing the same.

Contacted providers, they say there’s no issues on their ends. If I disconnect from the VPN & manually update, it all sorts out & updates.

Is this really where we’re going to be with IPTV now, having to do this manually? I’m guessing somewhere the IP for updating the EPG is getting blocked.

Try a different VPN server until you get one that works. I go through all of that in these videos.

Yeah, unfortunately it seems only 3-4 locations work on Surfshark for IPTV, the rest all seem to block the services from streaming, at least that’s been my experience for about a year. Serms the choice is no streams or manually updating…until I find the unicorn location.

with the vpn on, go into tivimate settings>>>EPG sources and at the bottom it will tell you the last time the epg updated successfully…or not. Make sure its set to update on start, I have mine set to update every 4 hours and as a test click Update Epg and see if it runs.

I have the same settings, but it just won’t run until I disconnect the VPN & force it manually. I can click the button, but it doesn’t do anything. Every day when I turn it on, it shows that it hasn’t updated since my last manual update.

so strange. No matter which vpn server I switch to mine updates

And no matter which I use, it wont. And now VOD is blocked…

It’s the update to 5.3.1, it’s blocking the VOD & EPG for my IPTV services. The sticks that I didn’t update are fine, the one I did is not working with Surfshark…seems to work IPVanish, though I’m having trouble with some of those settings as I’d let my account expire & I’m setting it up again. Will look for a Troypoint video, I’m sure there is one for the latest version of IPVanish to get all the settings right. (Though I’m not seeing all the servers in each city for some reason)

I was having the same issue, almost none of the Surfshark servers in the US would allow EPG update. I I contacted my IPTV Provider and told them what was happening. They said that most of the VPN servers were blocking it to try a server outside the US. I did using the Colombia server and it updated the EPG WITH NO ISSUES

Wish that would have worked for me. still no EPG update.
