Downloader URL only allows http:// on Formuler Z10 Max. Can't overide

Hi I have been experiencing a great deal of difficulty trying to type in web addresses or numeric codes on the Downloader app on my Formuler Pro Z10 Max. It has a preset of http:// in the URL box and although I can erase it and type in a proper url https:// address or a shortcut numeric code, it always reverts to the http:/ preset and does not load anything. I have been searching high and low for a solution or a setting in Downloader to change the preset without any luck. Does anyone have a solution which worked if this happened on your device? Thanks

Just making sure you are talking about the Home section not the Browser section, right?

My Home search bars are blank on both my Nvidia and phone. But my browser section starts on AFTnews with the Https://…

Thank you for your response. Yes, it is in the Home section since I got desperate enough to see if I could break the gridlock by using the Browser in some way. The prefix is set at “http://”. And I can’t do much with that(!) I appreciate your reaching out.

No problem. Not really sure. I was looking at the settings but nothing seemed to fix your issue. Have you tried to delete and reinstall?

FYI i am not using the Pro Z 10 max so if it is specific to your device i am of no help.

Someone weighing in’ is always appreciated. I have deleted and reloaded the app a few times with the same results. What is confusing is that in the review of the Formuler Pro Z10 max, Troy had indicated that he downloaded not only Downloader but the Tool Box and, through it, other apps, with no problem. I do not seem to be having that kind of experience(!) Thanks again for your input.

Ok a question. Are you using WiFi? Can you try an ethernet cable? I know this sounds odd but bear with me. I am wondering if it’s a WiFi certificate issue.

Thank you, Miki. It’s worth a try. I appreciate your suggestion and will let you know how it goes.

Uninstalled Downloader, connected the box to the ethernet, and re-installed Downloader - working like a charm (although Google Play is flagging a number of the apps like FileSynched as being ‘hazardous’ and phony when I try to download them through Troy’s Toolbox - some days…) Thanks very much for the advice, Miki.

No problem. Glad it worked. You might try to turn off Play Protect in Playstore. That should fix the warning messages.

Search on TP if you arent sure how to turn it off.
