I have used the downloader app many times on various fire sticks over the years, most recently 2 weeks ago on a 4k max ,
My question is about a fire tablet that I have, no downloader app in the AppStore, I managed to install a couple of apks by typing the address into the browser and installing direct . Is there a reason that the AppStore on tablet is different from firestick AppStore

Amazon logic, more than likely they think since you are using the tablet you don’t need to install Downloader. They expect you just to use the native search function. They are also aware of what downloader is used for majority of the time it’s simply for side loading apks and apps that they do not want you to have on their device. You can find safe versions of downloader to use off the Amazon app store. Once you do, downloader will work. Amazons forced control is the reason I personally am breaking away from gifting anything with Fire OS from now on and I’m only going get devices running real Android from now on even when gifting them.

I managed to download and install downloader on my fire tablet some time ago. However, it no longer works. When the downloader code is input, the app hangs on “re-directing”
I now just download apps to my browser and install from there same as with a PC.

I was troubleshooting this all night. I found a way to download the app again but download links still aren’t working. Amazon must’ve actually shadowbanned it smfh
