Try clearing the Downloader app’s cache, go to Settings > Apps, select the Downloader app, and choose Clear Cache or Clear Data
This was a new install, I followed Troy’s instructions and had no problems and got Downloader installed. The problem was loading the tool box using the code and then using the URL. The message reads Error 403-Forbidden.
The box is Canadian, some have said the box works here, some have said the initial update locks Canadians out. Running Surfshark VPN.
I think it’s fair to say that the boxes sold in Canada don’t have the same Os and lock that the ones in the USA had, not that I care since I easily beat that and now it’s not a problem. They simply could not sell this device in Canada with a Geolock for Canada, right? I’m sure one day I will have one, but now I have 3 already from the USA, in Canada and as mentioned many times before get all that live USA programming and I just know we won’t get on a Canadian box. Why? Because if you change your VPN to Canada, the Home screen changes and the live option no longer exists. Change it back to USA and voila, it’s back.
Thank you, nicely done, for taking the time to answer their question! Most people with info would rather take a cheap shot and let it be known the question was way below their standards! And the question would go unanswered. Again thank you!
I had seen some online reviews that, even though the Pro was more money, the Plus had better performance. I was in the same boat, thinking the Pro must be better. I went with the Plus. Having Dolby Atmos, to me, was the key, as I have an Atmos sound bar.
But the Pro model does have Dolby Atmos, also.
Yes, the ONN 4K Pro streaming device supports Dolby Atmos. It can output Dolby Atmos for immersive, theater-like spatial audio, along with supporting Dolby Vision for enhanced picture quality.
- Video and Audio Support: The device supports both 4K UHD resolution, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos.
Oh yes Jerry!! 4k pro is awesome!! Cheers!!![]()
7.1 Atmos
Yes I’m really really late to comment on this, but I’d just like to say I have had no problem loading anything from Troy’s tool box in Canada. That goes for the Firesticks or the Onn stick.
I do not use a VPN on either as I’ve found that using Surfshark actually blocked me reloading my principle IPTV service when I needed to change the URL after the service crashed. Once up and running, no problem.
I’m just wondering if using the VPN at that stage was causing your problem.

Edit
Here is the correct link. Sorry for the confusion
Unless I’m missing or overlooking something that was filed in Jan 2024, which was for the current Onn 4k Pro.
The 4k Plus?
Not sure how I ended up with that link. But this is the correct one
ah yes that looks very similar to the google streamer, at least the design/shape of it.
Showing the ONN V2
Is that the current 4k Pro box or something new?
According to the description it’s new in 2026 V2
This sounds like the one they said was coming and why they removed the older boxes from the shelves to make ppl hungry for these ones. 3GBS of RAM and 32 GBs of storage along with widevine makes this much more appealing. Now to check the chipset and other specs. I bet they sell out REAL quick. Give them a ton of cash in their coffers. Runs Dolby vision and atmos. Here’s a rundown on the SoC for those interested. It’s midrange for power but wit 4K @ 75FPS this is going to be the fave for everyone I bet. Certified as well. I wonder what the price will be?
$75 ONN 4K Pro is definitely the better one if you want something closer to a Firestick experience. It has more RAM, better performance, built-in speaker for hands-free voice commands, and overall feels smoother when switching apps. The $53 model works fine, but the Pro is just more responsive and future-proof.
Setup is pretty similar to a Firestick, sign into your Google account, install your apps from the Play Store or sideload with Downloader, and you’re good to go. Nothing too complicated.
As for Wolf Launcher, it doesn’t brick devices by itself. People usually run into issues when they disable the stock launcher incorrectly. If you follow a proper guide (like the ones on TroyPoint) it’s safe. That said, the stock Google TV launcher on the ONN boxes is already pretty clean, so you may not even feel the need to change it.
I found some info on YouTube that might help regarding info about 4K Pro Streaming Box (V2) Hope it helps.
