I got a new 4K Fire Stick about 6 months ago It worked great but now when I play tv shows or movies with Kodi the screen is too dark to see clearly. At first I thought the Fire Stick had developed a problem but it only happens on Kodi. I can see YouTube clearly on Kodi just like on the stick and everything else I use on the stick is good. I have changed builds and have not used a build, got the same thing. Any ideas how to fix my problem?
Easy fix to watch TV and movies…install Stremio, much info about Stremio here, use the search feature
If you want live tv, check out the IPTV list on Troypoint website. There are also suggested Sports sites.
Everyday on this site are multiple Kodi and Kodi add-on problems, uninstall Kodi
There may be other solutions, but this works and it’s easy
Thanks! I’ll check it out.
@CH-23 Thanks for the tip, can’t wait to give it a try.
Kind of lazy advice in my opinion. If the screen is dark but the movie or show is still playing then it probably means you are playing HDR content. Either you need to adjust your TV settings so HDR content is in bright mode, or your TV just doesn’t handle black levels very well. All HDR content is going to be darker than SDR. Pay attention to which streams you are choosing. If it says HDR, 10bit, DV, etc. then choose a different stream.
Absolutely, 100% lazy advice. My preference is to punch a button and watch a series or Movie in great quality. Others want to spend hours/days working on hardware and software like Kodi. For me, the world has moved on. Life is easier, I like that and I’m lazy. I want my device to work vs. working on my device. Life without Kodi, try it, you’ll like it!
Thanks for your input. I have not tried to make any changes yet but I had not considered the TV settings. I will also pay attention to which streams I choose. Great advice!
Great advice! I adjusted the TV settings and now choose SDR streams. It looks great now. I also adjusted the volume settings on the TV and it sounds better as well. I appreciate you taking the time to point me in the right direction. Case Closed! Woot! Woot!
