I’ve thought about this since I’ve seen the QR Codes on gas pumps to pay at the pump

I never use QR codes for anything. I also do not tap my CC because you in fact are sending out a signal with the cards info to anyone within a few feet. This was something I read years ago when this became popular with Apple Pay and such.
