I installed kodi 20.1 and added the Crew per troy directions. When I attempt to search for TV or movie I receive message that ss its a crew error and check the log for more details.

Try closing Kodi and relaunching. Actually close out of the program with power button on top left screen in Kodi, don’t just go to home page.
Also, sometimes that error comes up if the show has failed playback due to the player cant play it or your device doesn’t have the capabilities to play it.
