Crew "Add to Library" Notification

Anyone else having issues with the Add to Library Notification in the Crew since the latest update. I have turned off all Library settings and I am still getting this notification which stays on the screen for long periods of time. I have even uninstalled and re installed The Crew and it still keeps coming up.

I also have the same issue with Seren when doing a database sync that seems to get hung up at 100%. If I exit, it starts the sync again and gets hung up again. Ended up disabling it until I can figure out how to fix it.

I don’t use the library or favorites. If you use Trakt you can add stuff to your Trakt collection or watchlists. Which also updates across all your different devices signed in with Trakt.

I use Favorites…but not the Library function. I’ve always turned the settings off in this menu, and have never had this issue with Crew until did a fresh Kodi install this week and installed the latest version of Crew. I have turned off all the notification settings I can see in the addon and it still comes back. Maybe I need to turn off the Trakt bookmarks setting.

I haven’t had any problems . Then again I don’t use the Library feature . Hope someone can help

Trakt is a pain in the butt . When I had it linked to KODI it would scrobble non stop across all addons with a perminant notification at the bottom of the screen :person_facepalming:

Or I can keep pushing my Skeleton Crew build and tell you to try a fresh install of that lol.

I use both - i have my weekly TV shows i save to favourites - makes it easy to find. I do have an issue with Library, which i save movies i want to watch at a later time. When i go in, most, but not all are listed twice. I did go through and manually delete one but when i’d open it a couple of days later, the movie icon is shown twice again - UUUGGGHHH!!!
Anyone have an idea what could cause that? I do have Trakt & RD enabled for most (all?) of my add-ons.

TIA!

Been using Trakt for years. Simple solouion to your issue. turn Scrobbling off

Your skeleton Crew is on my mecool km2 . I have 3 HDMI inputs and a different streaming device on each of one

Go into your Trakt addon configuration settings. Under the scrobbling tab turn off “show notification on scrobble”. Then go to the synchronize tab. Turn off “sync collection on library update or cleaning” and turn off “show sync notifications”. Turn on “hide notifications during playback”. Also turn on “sync movie playback progress to Kodi” as well as “sync episode playback progress to Kodi” while you’re at it.

It’s important to understand the differences between the Kodi library, favorites, watchlists, and Trakt collection.

If you truly did a fresh install of Kodi then all your data should be wiped out. Your library and favorites should be completely blank. Kodi doesn’t add anything to your library until you tell it where to look, i.e. what path. Your library is intended to be for your local content (files downloaded and/or stored on your device). Your library is not intended to be a watchlist of everything on the internet.

With Trakt, you can sync your library if you want to. This takes things that are in your library and scrobble it so you can keep track of what you’ve watched on your own device. It’s not supposed to work the other way around. You’re not supposed to take streaming sources and add them to your library.

What I do instead of using the library in Kodi or adding things to favorites is I add movies or shows to my Trakt collection. That way everything stays in the cloud. That’s why I configured my build to work this way and there is a submenu shortcut to the Trakt collection. Everytime you startup Kodi your addons are going to sync your Trakt collection. When you navigate to your Trakt collection (within that addon, not your library) anything you select to play is going to play from that addon.

Any duplicates you have in your library are because you are truly duplicating your efforts. The library is configured, by you, to be pulling that information from two different sources. You need to go into the media settings within Kodi and change the way you have your library configured.

To summarize, keep your library configured to only store the files you physically have on your device. Use the Trakt collection or watchlists for everything streaming. If you do want Trakt to scrobble your library then turn off the notifications.

Thanks J. I did that already. Before I closed my device last night I went through File Manager to addon_data to the Crew files and deleted the Movies & TV files as well as the library.db file to see if that would finally correct it. It’s weird…while I did a Fresh Kodi install on my NVIDIA Shield and re-added my favorite addons from scratch, both the Movies and TV folders in Crew contained a ton of files that I don’t ever remember adding to it. I even deleted the Crew addon and deleted the setting data etc…as well and when I re-installed it…those files were still there. Really weird. Don’t have this issue on my secondary device (Firestick 4K), and this issue wasn’t an a problem until the recent RD issues some people had with ResolveURL.

Haven’t tried my device yet today, but when I do, I will let the group know if it worked or not. Cheers mate.
