I updated the CMAN & SG builds to version 2.0.9 using normal installation and when I start KODI I get a prompt asking if I want to clear the packages folder due to exceeding the size of 200 mb. What is the packages folder and If I clear this will it mess up anything?

You can clear it. It’s where the zip files for the addons are initially downloaded and stored. Once they are installed though you can delete the package(s).
