While on cinema received update notice ignored it then next time it showed clicked update downloaded it clicked okay it appears to get rid of that cartoon pop up that shows up every now and then when using the subtitles with play.

Having the same problem, I don’t use Cinema any more.

You can hit home, then hold on the app, go to its setting, force stop & clear cache

I Just installed an ONN 4K Plus and am having the same problem, including using MX Player Pro

Still looking for a solution
