Well yes know that we can use the free two day EPG in my source provider. But that is not long enough to plan out a couple weeks of shows to record (time shift).
So right now subscribe to a $20 a year EPG service, and use the free NEXTdvr running on a win11 workstation; and KODI as the client for android devices. Programming NEXTdvr and an EPG service can be painful.

Am thinking of testing CHANNELS DVR with the $80 a year service. We are using an old TABLO tuner, but tablo is kind of going a weird direction with their app. Would be nice to have an easy way to remote watch stuff too. CHANNELS DVR includes EPG.
Any new opinions about CHANNELS DVR and being worth $80 a year?
Am experimenting with CHANNELS DVR versus the TABLO and finding the channels app and server, and software works so much better. Am thinking of selling my old tablo four tuner. The channels app is so much better and more flexible.

For $8 a month it seems to be worth it. Using an IPTV source the combined grand total cost is $20 a month . Cheaper than a cable bill.

Am so impressed with CHANNELS DVR am going to buy a new HDHOMERUN DUO from Amazon for integration.
And selling my old TABLO QUAD because the new tablo software is too focused on pushing their channel priority, and not the customer channel priority.
Am also liking CHANNELS DVR over KODI with NEXTPVR. Having a built in EPG with CHANNELS is very cool. Worth the $8 a month.
@@@@@ we keep finding new things in CHANNELS like creating a show season PASS that records everything on a season, with a streaming channel provider. KODI and NEXTPVR have nothing like that set up for user ease. TABLO has similar but because it only works with OTA channels, we miss half of the shows due to bad antenna signal. To us this is a holy grail. Sure we could use HULU or FRIENDLY TV, or various archives online found via TORBOX; but many unique TAPED LIVE shows do not have a way to TIME SHIFT them, without spending Megabucks.
also, while not perfect, Channels has the best commercial skip for recordings already built-in, no configuring comskip or anything. that’s a big one for me, I’ve looked at all the options (Plex, Emby, jellyfin) for the best UI and operation and although Channels UI is a bit vanilla and aging, you can’t beat its integration options and it just plain works.
