I have the Enybox X1 Android box and installed the rapid app installer. Previously it has work on this box as well as others in the past, but after a factory reset and installed again, when I select the apk from the list to download, the bar just keeps spinning and doesn’t start the download on any of them.
I’ve tried looking for a firmware update in case it was a software issue, but i managed to install stryx from google and that works fine.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it because it’s an older box?
Thank in advance for any help.
Enable downloads from unknown sources?
yes i have done that following troypoints descriptions as usual, but unfortunately still doesn’t work.
Try deleting it then use this link https://troypoint.com/tpapp after download restart your box also make sure as said above allow from unknown sources and that should work I just tried it on my Nvidia shield and it loaded up fine good luck let us know how you make out I’m sure we can figure it out. I just loaded on my phone also and loaded and working fine
Did you go back through and jailbreak it again
thanks for that I’ll give it a go
@dawgfan what do you mean go back through and jailbreak it again?
I think they think you are using a firestick
I wouldn’t use strix apk.
I would uninstall the Downloader and troypoint app clear cache restart device.
Once you have done that, download the Downloader and put this url in https://troypoint.com/tpapp
Try again. Yes you have to make sure unknown sources are on.
Actually every android box tv etc has to be jailboken. You had said you done a complete factory reset. That means you will have to open back up the developer’s options turn debugging back on. Different tvs act different ways. If you were trying to download TP rapid app installer even though it might not say anything when it starts doesn’t mean it might still be turned off in unknown apps or some you have to allow things to be downloaded on to your device. I think you said this was a upgrade so this is a whole different beast. The upgrade might have changed everything the way it acted before. Just make sure the app is authorized and it could have another permission to download to your device. Hope this helped and if I can answer anything else just let me know. Oh one more thing you have to make sure Downloader and the plug in are both authorized.
Thanks DawgFan1989
Don’t normally have issues before when I do it in the past, though noticed every once in awhile it does happen and then a reset does work, but in this case with this box it hasn’t repeatedly.
Unkown sources is activated as it works with some apps I’ve managed to sideload outside of troypoint rapid app installer, from a website link for the app. Downloader doesn’t work with a few of my android boxes, only works with android tv boxes.
@TP-Dracoo I also normally us that link through google address bar to install and it works.
Thanks everyone for your assistance and advice. I will try and retry a lot of what was mentioned and hopefully can solve the issue.
I like kodi releases normally too as an addition in case sideloaded apps shut down, but unfortunately tried the latest in the newsletter updates and they require real debrid which i don’t have never used yet as I’ve never had issues with my internet unless as troy stated, users put different movies under the actual movie being selected. That’s a major thing. You just have to scan through and find the right one lol.
I’m glad I could help you some but where unknown source is activated you should be able to disable it or click on it and it will bring up all of your apps that need to be authorized and if you have apps that needs to be authorized all you usually have to do is click on it to authorize it but don’t hesitate to ask if I can help you anymore!!
with the amazon fire stick and android tv boxes, it works that way. With the android boxes, especially the older ones, it’s a little different as it’s in the settings like the way kodi is. The box I listed above is from 2016/17. I don’t have issues with my amazon firestick 4k in the lounge, but running 5 boxes at home, one for each bedroom and lounge lol. Some are older than others, but still worked perfectly until now.
I think the issue is you may still be on Android 6 and with android 12 now being out the apps you’re trying to use may not be backwards compatible. In some cases good App developers do provide you with older apks that may be compatable with your OS. If your system is 5 years old I would suggest a new one is in order. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and buy new.
Can you tell what software version you are using and what Kodi builds are you trying to install
If it is 6.0 go into the Google play store and delete all data and turn off future upgrades. As of 2019 all boxes with 6.0 or earlier can not download from the play store. unknown sources go to settings to security and it should be a one click to in able unknown sources. Type in Kodi builds for kodi 16.0. Or the second route is update your box to android 7 but first if you could tell me your operating system then we can go from there
I apologize I should not have asked what builds you were trying to install
A shame ain’t it considering still in perfect working order. Like everything, turnaround on electronics to continually create demand for newer versions, like our phones lol
i was looking at trying to upgrade to a more later android than 6 or even the firmware as sometimes this is the case, but unfortunately have been unsuccessful in finding the manufacturers website for this particular box so can’t make those amendments.
Plus never changed the operating system so not sure how to do that without following manufacturers steps.
Haven’t been able to find anyone else with a trusted site to support these changes. So may look like the easiest solution would be to purchase a new box.
From what I read it can be upgraded to 7. Not much of a step by step. I had one of the generic boxes at one time. It worked fine greet price. The only thing I didn’t like was it didn’t have a true tv operating system
