Can you turn off notification in Kodi / The Crew?

I use The Crew and sometimes get an annoying 1 to 2 second sound (sounds something like “bringgggg”). I assume this is a notification of an update taking place in either The Crew or Kodi (am I correct in my assumption?). Is there a way to turn this off so this annoying sound will not occur?

Thank you for your time.

In Kodi settings for to " SYSTEM SETTINGS" … " ADDONS" …then press the “Left button " on your remotes D-pad . Click on “Settings” in the " Blade Menu” on the left side of your screen . Then in the main window disable notifications . Good luck .

Thank you for your reply Pete, it it truly appreciated. I followed your instructions and when I got to the page I noticed that the Notifications were already off (see image). I guess there must be something else causing this annoyance.

At this point I would become persistent lol… Go back and toggle it to show notifications, then disable notifications. Then go into Android settings , apps , KODI & force close the app. Then reopen it. Maybe @Jayhawks659 can be of help. That’s all I can come up with .

Are you using a build? And when exactly does the sound occur? Is it after you click on something? Is it only when you are in the menus, or does it happen even during playback?

Hi Pete, thanks again for your input. I tried what you said and the issue is still not resolved.

Hi Jayhawks659, thank you for trying to help. No, not a build, just your normal Kodi version 19.4. The sound occurs at random times, sometimes frequently, sometimes (but rarely) not at all. It can happen just briefly after opening Kodi but most often during playback. I would say that during playback (within The Crew) of a one hour show, the average number of times it occurs is about 3 or 4 times. This issue is only happening when I use my Android Box (MyGica), not when I’m using my FireStick.

Thanks for your time.

I’ve never heard of that Box or had that problem with and of the android devices that I’ve been streaming on over the past 10 years. I thought you meant notification for updates .

I have never experienced this. But if the sound is happening with Kodi open BEFORE you open the crew addon then you know it’s not a problem with the addon. This doesn’t happen with any other apps, just with Kodi?

I would check your sound settings in Kodi to make sure they match your setup. There could be a setting in there regarding low level noise to keep a device on that could be not functioning properly. But if you have Kodi on both devices and you set them up exactly the same way then I think it would be more to do with your device than it actually is Kodi.

Again, thank you for your help Pete. My issue seems to be resolved - see my reply to Jayhawks659.

Thank you so much for your input Jayhawks659. Sorry for the late reply, life got in the way and I was not able to act on this issue. Anyway, my issue has been resolved. When I posted about my issue I thought it was an issue within Kodi but I now realize that the issue was present before opening the Kodi app. (I never realized this because I would always activate my VPN and open Kodi as soon as I turned my Android Box on and the issue would not occur until after I was within Kodi).

So based on my realization that my issue was being caused by my Android Box, I was able to locate the notification area and then turned off notifications and, just in case, I also turned off the volume for notifications.

Your advice was greatly appreciated, thank you for your time and effort.
