Cache size in Buzz X5

Hi, I have the Buzz X5 box and I was wondering if someone can tell me how I get rid of the ever-increasing “cache” in the flash drive that I use as an external source.

I have used the in-built file explorer and numerous other file explorers and I cannot seem to find a way to clear that cache.

I have looked in the Buzz folder on the flash drive and can’t see anything there. I have also looked in the “download” folder also looked in the Android data folder and nothing there either.
In fact, I think I’ve looked in every folder and I can’t see a “cache” anywhere.

However when I plug the flash drive into my computer and use “treesize” the cache shows up there [ see attachment] and it’s 27gb, which I find strange as I was under the impression that
when it got to the 10 gb limit it just started overwriting itself.

I can actually delete the cache files using the “treesize” program but I’m not sure if that’s ok to do that?

These are the time shift files. I plug my external drive into my pc and delete the files when my 128 GB drive becomes full. The X5 has been a disappointment with its many flaws.

Steve, So can I delete these files then using my “treesize” program, I won’t delete the original “cache file” , just the caches contained within the main “cache storage”. I hope that makes sense, lol
Thank you

Just delete them. As you use time shift, the folder will repopulate. Like you, I was unable to to find a way to empty the cache without removing the drive. In Win 10, each folder also had a date created. I now use tivimate exclusively. Hopefully Buzz will address and correct issues with the X5 in the near future.

Brilliant, thank you Steve for your help much appreciated, and as you say there are a few “flaws” with the Buzz box which hopefully will be addressed with OTA updates in the future.
I also agree that at present, the Tivimate is a better option than the stock Buzz box options.
Thank you :+1: :+1: :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face:
