Buzz 5 TV app update

Your box is designed to take updates automatically. you can refer to the buzztv support forum for the latest versions available

I bought a BuzzTV Classic 5 after reading Troy’s review and i’ve never looked back. Just purchased another one for my basement TV and moth-balled the Firestick 4k. No comparison when using TVMate. After investing a little time in learning the settings in both, the only thing I find myself wishing for is having some control over icon sizing (way too big for my liking). I still consider IPTV to be bleeding edge technology with the device, VPN, and the IPTV provider each pointing at the other guy when things go wrong, but armed with good maintenance and analytical apps you can cut through a lot of the support crap. Forget plug and play - it’s too early in the evolution of IPTV at this point.

Depends on what box you have.About a year ago I bought the most expensive, top of the line box-or so I thought-then read an that an update was available so tried to update it and it wouldn’t update. Then did some more reading and came to find out that the model I had wouldn’t take updates any more but you could send it to them to fix it so it would update. So contacted them and they told me I would have to pay the shipping costs to canada to fix their knowingly defective product. So no thanks, boxed it back up and about be put on eBay. Bought a Formuler instead.

My stepson got a formule device at the same time he got IPTV .

He has never said he has had issues and that was maybe 2 years now .

I have an X88 to tinker with ,test out Kodi builds and skins .

Then I have the buzz tv device for watching on my tv .

I got a reply back but have not taken the time to see if what they told me to do makes sense

I am a non techy type , thus one device to practise on and one to keep safe .

Thanks for your comments , buzztv Canada is just down the 401 from me .

There was a post somewhere telling you what you could to do to make the box update and fix it,but risk “bricking” the device. So contacted buzz support and told them about it and they said then if I did that and it didn’t work, too bad.So didn’t try it, figured to resell it and try and get something back for it.They lost a customer with that attitude though.

Try contacting @buzztvglobal ,

Here it is if you change your mind

I also bought a buzztv Classic 5 and tried for several month to record a program but was unsuccessful. I contacted support but was unable to get any clear answer on how to record using their device. I now have a very expensive device that I am using as an android box to view tivimate which I could have done at Âź the price. I would not recommend buzztv to anyone.

A couple of questions… You mentioned you have TiviMate. You can use it to record if you are subscribing to the Premium version which I highly recommend. You can also record with the included BuzzTV player. In both cases you have to perform some setup steps. If you haven’t already, I suggest you check out Troypoint’s videos on the BuzzTV Classic setup and TiviMate player for the steps involved. As I have mentioned in previous comments, IPTV is currently a bleeding edge technology with a lot of links in the chain where failure can occur. You have to invest some time in learning how the technology works and what key apps you must employ to help resolve issues and answer key questions such as: is my ISP delivering consistent speeds, am I using my VPN correctly and how is my VPN impacting download speeds, is my IPTV provider reliable and do they even support recording??? I cut my teeth on firesticks and believe me - I spend considerably less time now on my BuzzTV boxes trying to get things to work smoothly than before. Good luck!

BuzzTV Gen 5 MasterClass & Buyer’s Guide (troypoint.com)

I use TiViMate on all my devices. I found it far easier to use than the built in DVR of the Buzz U5. My U5 is now retired and put out to pasture. Back to my trusty Shield Pro.

I have followed Troy’s class for buzztv and still cannot record any programs. Everything is set up as instructed but still cannot record on buzztv. I am now using Tivimate and recording ok, but I wanted to record on buzz. I also did not get any support from buzztv when I explained my problem. I will not recommend it.
