British Crime Series are actually excellent

@BigDave this is a reply to an old message in the "British Crime Series are actually excellent” thread that I came to from your recent post recommending the same.

The post I am telling too was about the Tubi section which I haven’t looked at yet, hope it’s still there! I wanted to point out with TDUK’s DNS Switcher and Mullvad all the annoying ads are blocked in Tubi. Thanks for the recommendation!

Just started watching it, really enjoying it.

I have so many that I feel like I’ll never get through them. I added several more just looking at this thread.

Three excellent series staring Robson Green, a fine British actor.
Grantchester *
Wire in the Blood
Touching Evil

I added Touching Evil. I’m sure Grantchester is excellent but way too many seasons for me. I’d never make it.

Here’s one for the masses I’ve not seen mentioned, Poldark. It is superb.

Poldark

“A Place to Call Home” is outstanding Australian TV
“Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries” and the follow up spin off are good
New Zealand series “Brokenwood Mysteries” is a good watch with each episode coming to a conclusion

There are some really excellent TV series from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, as well as Britain. Check out acorn.tv for ideas and then pull them up on Stremio.

Yes, a few years ago and I recall I liked it.

I’ve seen Acorn TV but didn’t know it was. Thanks.

I love Acorn TV … my youngest daughter gives my wife and I a yearly subscription to Acorn for Christmas. No shopping, budget friendly internet transaction, and a great gift !

Any modded version of it or the BBC one?

@GraceWilson, if you are using Kodi, in the TV options there should be an option for networks. You’ll see the Acorn network listed. I do find that the selection seems limited, though.

I seem to add a new series everyday. I’ll never be able to watch them all as it is. Thanks for the tip.

Karen Pirie is excellent, season two just dropped (Scottish cold case investigation) The new Rebus is brilliant as well

I’ve watched both seasons of K Pirie and enjoyed it.

I even like the funny ones like Agatha Raisen or Madame Blanc. Finished Shetland and it was great. Vera was another one that was very good
