Binding VPN to Kodi

How does one bind the VPN to Kodi?

You just subscribe to a VPN service, and add it to your firestick or fire TV, then connect to the VPN country of your choice, then open Kodi. I use surfshark.

My Surfshark still seems to significantly slow my connection speed. Any recommendations for optimizing ?

SS seems to be a hit or miss type of issue. Many people have reported a plethora of issues regarding SS…me included. I finally gave up and got a different vpn and haven’t had a bit of trouble since.

PF what are you using now?

Ok maybe its just me but when I see “Binding to Kodi”, I’m thinking its connected to it and working in harmony.

What I could tell, and i didn’t read all of the link because most didn’t apply to my set up (Nvidia) , is i turn on/connect my VPN (IPVanish) and then open kodi. That’s it. Thats “Binding with kodi”.

I set up my vpn to automatically turn on kodi when it connected but I realized that my vpn never disconnected unless i did it manually. This is becauae my Nvidia shield never actually shuts down. It goes into a sleep mode so my vpn stays active even when sleep mode is engaged.

Because of this I am guessing its better to turn off my VPN before it goes to sleep. Right?

Am I missing the big picture here with "Binding "?

binding is no good unless you use a static ip addy, your vpn will change your ip addy all the time as it rotates…so if you have kodi set to a certain ip addy to block by vpn? it will…untill your vpn rotates to a new ip addy on that particular server…for instance…say your using a new york ip addy…it will still say new york on your vpn but the ip addy has rotated to a new one and your leaking your ip address without even knowing it? hope this makes sense
