Best TV with both Dolby Vision & HDR10+

I’ve had samsung TV for years but thinking I should get away from that brand so I can get both dolby vision and hdr.

Any recommendations from you troypointers on best brand of TV that comes with both formats?

Thanks in advance.

There is a ton of brand loyalty, so people tend to stick with what they know to “be safe”. I have always loved Sony, Samsung and LG but things have really changed in the last few years.

TCL and Hisense make some really great TVs especially for the price and both have models supporting HLG, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision. 2 years ago, I bought a TCL with a 120hz screen to play video games on because I didn’t want to worry about burn in on our main LG OLED. Despite being a quarter of the price of the LG the features and performance have been great and exceeded my expectations. It runs GoogleTV and I’m not sure what processor it uses but it is quick and has something like 40GB of storage available so no problems there.

You just have to research the individual model because they both also make not so good bargain bin TVs and have different OS options like GoogleTV, FireOS and Roku.

Best bet is to continue to do online research and then go see the picture in person if you can, but you really should check out the TCL and Hisense options to compare to the old reliables.

No problem. I have no complaints about the LG except sometimes wonky CEC. The picture is phenomenal. It just depends on whether it is worth it to you for the last little bit of improvement or are you OK with 90%+ of the performance for a lower price.

If/when my 2016 Sony 65Z9d ever goes out, I’ll definitely be getting another Sony. Just not sure if I’ll go Oled or mini Led. Haven’t payed attention to TV reviews in a long time.

The 65” A95L for 2k is tempting, MSRP 3.5k

Best 65" - Is Sony A95L outdated now? : r/4kTV https://share.google/0hT07Gk6QJjQeB53L

I would check with Hisense first. My first 4K TV was a TCL 55-in then I went to a TCL 65 in with full array local dimming. Now I have a Vizio 65-in OLED only one they made I leave it on all day everyday for 3 years now and have no burn in newer Oled’s have the technology like pixel shift settings that you won’t even notice. I would not buy LG just because of their magic remote I do not want to deal with that and don’t know why they don’t change it. Even if it was just for their OLEDs. If I was to get another OLED I would purchase a Sony they are higher price but they are designed and calibrated to work well with movies. You could also check out YouTube channels that help a lot One called Stop the FOMO, Calebrated,HDTVTest, these guys have been around for years and know their stuff and have the big shootouts with the best TVs each year. I did mention the Hisense because I recommend it to my sister she likes it I’ve not seen it. These people I’ve mentioned keep talking about the mini LED with Hisense is great sometimes I’ve seen Hisense offer 2-year warranties so check that out and when you’re buying. Even the bottom of the line 58-in I saw at a friend’s house was pretty good looking to me. Panasonic OLEDs are at Amazon they have been rated high and affordable. Hope I’ve helped.

You should probably wait a bit longer and see what brands officially jump aboard the Dolby Vision 2 train.
