Not sure what steps I missed. It’s pretty simple. Not a lot of typing or anything. Not sure there’s a manual anywhere though.
Congrats ProBowler! I am still struggling with Stremio on my Nvidia Shield Pro. Miki has brought me a long way, however, I am not there yet. What other steps can you suggest?
What problems are you having? I’m sure I can help. Just let me know where you’re stuck.
I have installed Stremio on my Nvidia Shield Pro from Google Play Store. I see suggestions that I should install directly from the Stremio website. Could the Google install be the beginning of my issues?
Either one works just fine. Could you explain what issues you’re having? The links provided should answer 99% of your issues. But there maybe some extra guidance I can provide, but can’t do that until I know your issues.
I have a movie in the Library. It will not open. None of the addons I installed are “working”.
On what device is this? What addons have you added and where did you get them from? Do the addons show when you choose a movie? What speeds do you get and are you using a vpn?
Nvidia Shield Pro. Torrentio is the main one, along with recommended ones and a subtitles one. You know though, it seems every time I open Stremio my Surfshark VPN shuts off… indicating that i might have another VPN on. Does Stremio have an embedded VPN?
No it doesn’t. I’m on a shield pro and have been using Stremio for years. But on my I have auto updates turned off along with Google Play protect, although that shouldn’t make a difference. I use ProtonVPN. I might suggest trying Proton free and turning off SS just for an experiment. I am stumped as to why as I don’t know anyone else with SS having a similiar issue. You might try going to the official Stremio site and uninstall your present install and reinstall from the official site, although again I don’t know why that would help. Try the VPN first.
I have my auto updates turned off too. I used to have IPVanish, but changed when Troy recommended Surfshark. I never experienced any issues with IPvanish, although I felt it restricted my speed too much. Surfshark has been more problematic.
I will follow your advice. I will keep you posted. Again, thanks for hanging in there with me.
I am here until the end, but I apologize for my limited knowledge. I suspect SS but can’t think what, in the settings, could be doing this. Using the free ProtonVPN might help pinpoint the problem.
One suggestion I do have. Go into the SS settings and under “protocol” change it from “Auto” and select “Wireguard”. See if that helps.
It has been a while since this thread actually talked about Syncler as the title suggests.
It is on auto. I also went through each protocol. No change.
I finally got SS working again by force stopping it and restarting it.
Also, I deleted the Stremio app on my Shield and will start over.
Thread hijacking seems pretty commonplace anymore…
Turn off auto and set to Wireguard and leave it there.
Ooops sorry mthr1. I wasn’t paying attention. Just responding. I’ll pm the person and get them to start their own thread. Have a good night.
No worries - wasn’t directing towards anyone. I can get just as obliviously guilty at times.
Ya my bad though. Good to be called out when a mistake is made.
