well the good thing is the developer is still active. I tried the mpv player and dont like it popping out and the html player buggy as well. Might get better if he actually bakes the mpv player in to the app.
Is there an android app that will give me a tv guide for my local ota channels? my tv has no tv guide. Wouldn’t be elegant but at least I could check the android box and see what’s on ota.
i’ve been using LDPlayer and tivimate…works pretty good
Thanks, I’ll check it out.
m3u is a file containing all the URLs or addresses for channels. You input it into your IPTV player like TiViMate or Sparkles. You also need to add the EPG for that list and that also is input into your IPTV player. The better one to have is an m3u8 which contains the channel addresses as well as the xml info for the EPG. For instance the following is the URL for a free USA playlist:
https://iptv-org.github.io/iptv/countries/us.m3u
Now you have to find a corresponding EPG to also input. EPG files are .xml
https://epg.pw/xmltv/epg_US.xml
Now you just have to enter both into the iptv player of your choice. Some IPTV suppliers use this method but the far easier way is using X-treme code.
Thanks, is there any light easy to use iptv players, just need to throw one on the onn 2? Looking for a light one because of the limited storage.
I use TiViMate as it’s so feature rich, but I paid for a lifetime license as I wanted access to every feature possible. Free is often lacking in the features it allows access to.
Want to start slow with just my local tv station epg if possible, like locast did before it went away. Are iptv’s used for that or do I need something different? Thanks, appreciate you guys sharing your knowledge on these things, very helpful for me a noob. Would like one that tells me what’s on my local sub channels like 2.2 2.3 etc, wonder if plex can do that?
If using an IPTV app like TiViMate then yes you can add your own playlists, but I did this many many months ago and had 50 pages of F.A.S.T. links. Over 50 EPG lists and after a few months I soon discovered that free was far to unstable for me and a waste of time. So I went all in with a lifetime Tivimate which is inexpensive, less than $40 and paid IPTV subs. I firmly believe this is the best way to go for everyone.
