I have been trying to decide between the Buzz TV 6 or the Nvidia Shield TV Pro.
One of the most important factors for me is how well the DVR works as well as storage of the recordings. I currently have several Z11 Pro Max boxes. I use TiviMate and apparently you cannot set a USB Thumb drive as storage for recordings, which is problematic for me as the internal storage on the Z11 fills quickly. The other problem I am having with the Z11 is the quality of the recordings. Oftentimes the recording stops before the scheduled time so I only get part of the program I wanted. The other issue with the Z11 DVR function is that the recording will freeze and repeat the dialogue a 2nd time, and then continue. This happens multiple times in an average recording. With these concerns in mind, do you think the Buzz TV 6 is a better choice or Nvidia Shield TV Pro?
Also, with the Nvidia, what is the best way to increase storage? USB Drive? External Hard Drive?
I appreciate your recommendations and would also be interested if anyone else has, or had the same issues with the Z11 Pro Max.
TIA!
I have and use an Nvidia Shield TV Pro on our main TV and have the BUZZ TV 6 on another tv. My wife records her shows on the Shield via TiviMate. She doesn’t have a lot of luck with the recording but my question is it the TiviMate or the box that is the issue. Or perhaps is it the source TiviMate is receiving?
If I were made to choose one box over the other it would be The BuzzTV PowerStation6. Sorry that doesn’t help with the recording issue though.
I record on my Buzz TV 6 all the time. I never record more than 4, 3-hr shows so I don’t know what the limit might be. if, however, there are glitches with wifi or perhaps it’s the channel, the recording will sometimes be corrupted. I record from TiviMate through my IPTV provider. Because of the 2 minute lag time on TiviMate, my recordings are always 2 minute short, even though I ask TiviMate to add 2 min??? you might check with @Mikie as he has both boxes. I don’t know if he records though.
