Background app & process list

When I go into Background Apps, I can still delete all my apps but there is a message that says, "The version of app you have installed is 1.3G13i. However, I am unable to update the app since the Amazon App store is no more.

Thank you very much, my brother.

The Google Play store has 13G17i, the developer is at visnkmr (Vishnu N K) · GitHub, you can download it a number of places, if you open FTV’s downloader and search for you will get an entry for the Play Store to download it or if you type in the full name and scroll down you will see visnkme and a gethub message, there is a link to the gethub app store that you can download it from.

You will find the message gone on the new version, I have the same version as you have, with the stupid message on one of my Google TV devices, haven’t gone to the trouble of replacing it, it works fine as well.

Thank you, my brother. I found my issue. Amazon Appstore is closing 08/2025, but they still update the Firestick until then. However, I use the Walmart Onn and Amazon no longer update that device.

Hey @Timwort. I think it’s github not gethub. Your link doesn’t go anywhere.

Let me fix that for ya @Miki

Thanks for your continued support!

The above is a copy and paste from Google Play Store so yes, a typo, thanks for catching that. I’ll edit the link.

So many ways to get to it now!

Hey guys I hope you can help.
Background Apps and Process List has still not returned to the Google Play Store. Both my ONN devices have this app and both need the version updated. My first fear is to remove them and not be able to reinstall from anywhere.
A while back one of the founding members here helped me with the same issue and I used (not sure if I can say “upto----” to get the apk and install. Now when I tried them the download button it didn’t start the download. I thought maybe I have to become a member but that wasn’t the case last time. I googled the Background Apps------- found “gith–” signed up and still couldn’t find a downloadable apk.
I just don’t want to lose the app later version or not.

Not sure why Google won’t show it for you but it’s there. Here’s 3 alternative links.

Is there a chance the “Background Apps and Process List” can be added to Troy’s Toolbox.
The Google Play Store on the ONN devices doesn’t show the app anymore.
I have old versions that need to be updated and my fear is uninstalling them and not being able to download and install from a search engine.
Troy’s toolbox is really nice. You can update an app without removing it.
Really an advantage

Back up before removing

Thank you for your comeback, Paddyboy57.
Excuse my not being very tech savvy.
Can you explain the procedure for backing up an app before deleting it.
I’m just guessing but I do have external storage loaded on the devices in question. And I do have extra thumb drives if necessary…

Sure, in Kodi respiratory then Kodi programs there’s a program called Back up download it. Then in settings set where you want to download back up , I pick , browse path and pick external storage or it will have ur sd drive number pick back up , then next u pick what you want to save I do add on add-on data, configurations, or u can pick all then back out click( run)then backup . Wait until progress is done woolah. Good luck

I appreciate your input. When I follow your instructions I’ll assume that I can back up to my external drive. My question is if I need to reinstall what I saved, hopefully not because I should be able to install the new version from a search engine, what is the process to reinstall from where I saved it?

When reinstall new version for Kodi install add-on (back up) same same process when you open up the Kodi ad on backup you hit run and you press restore instead of backup but you need to back up first and you have to save where you backed it up. And YES external drive when you go to the settings you will see what path you want to save the backup to and it’ll have external drive it’s the best way I can explain it you have to do it to actually learn it took me a few times

You might have to reset debris services n trakt but add-ons will be ready to go. There’s also maintenance + add-on there’s a a tutorial for that

I got 2 now and love them. I do have a question. My wife loves background apps & process list apk. Do you think Troy will ever get it back on his list for us?
