ASUS Router. Ethernet to USB withs USB powered hub, . Trade offs. Proven opinions, Sorry if I rant

Looking for the best way to utilize the ASUS RT-AX3000 printer server option.
I looked and not sure of the trade offs. Straight USB or try Printer USB to ethernet.

It is just a cable…the trade offs and options are not overwhelming…I would appreciate TP folks opinions on which way to go,
If I go straight USB, I need a a hub. No problem. Then next question is recommendations on what works best with ONN 4K and maybe the 4K PRO. Powered. Proven buys from Amazon please, Need USB A and C hub.
Please proven set ups opinions.

Merlin has something called VPN Director where you can enable/disable the vpn on devices. Look for something similar within fusion settings.

As far a printers go, I prefer wireless setup.
